April 19, 2025DHL Supply Chain, the global leader in contract logistics, has been appointed by Bosch—a leading global provider of technology and services—to manage the distribution of its consumer goods and mobility-related products in Malaysia. The partnership also includes occasional support for regional markets across Southeast Asia.
At the heart of this collaboration is a strategically located Distribution Center (DC) in Shah Alam, Malaysia. Designed with future-ready capabilities, the DC has the potential to integrate Industry 4.0 technologies, including Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Pick-to-Light and Put-to-Light systems, and real-time inventory tracking. These technologies are set to enhance operational flexibility and meet Bosch’s evolving business needs.
Mario Lorenz, Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Malaysia, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership:
“In a time where global supply chains are becoming increasingly complex and Malaysia is positioning itself as a key logistics hub in Southeast Asia, this collaboration between DHL Supply Chain and Bosch is a strategic step forward. We aim to deliver tailored solutions that not only enhance operational efficiency but also boost our customers’ competitiveness on both a local and global scale.”
Supporting Malaysia’s Digital Economy Goals
This partnership highlights DHL’s commitment to innovation and aligns with Malaysia’s ambition to become a regional leader in logistics and the digital economy. By leveraging smart warehouse solutions and advanced automation, DHL Supply Chain is setting new benchmarks in logistics efficiency and customer service.
In line with its growth agenda, DHL Supply Chain Malaysia is also expanding its capacity and investing in talent development to support customers’ long-term growth. One notable example is the newly launched Penang Logistics Hub 5—a 22,000-square-meter facility located in the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone.
This new hub is DHL Supply Chain’s first global deployment of Automated Case-handling Mobile Robots (ACR) and Goods-to-Person Robotics (GTPR), alongside an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS). It is designed to support a leading multinational technology firm, further solidifying DHL’s role as a key player in Malaysia’s growing logistics and manufacturing ecosystem.
