Higher Resolution and Speed
With a 32.5-megapixel sensor, the EOS R6 Mark III captures finer detail and offers greater cropping flexibility, perfect for photographers seeking clarity even from afar. It supports continuous shooting at up to 40 fps (electronic shutter) or 12 fps (mechanical/electronic first-curtain), maintaining its high-speed performance even under heavy processing loads.
The new pre-continuous shooting feature records up to 20 frames before the shutter is fully pressed, available in all still formats, including RAW, C-RAW, and HEIF — ensuring no moment is missed.
Enhanced autofocus algorithms now provide more tenacious subject tracking, improving accuracy in challenging situations. The camera also introduces Register People Priority, inherited from the flagship EOS R1, allowing pre-registered subjects to be prioritised in group scenarios such as events, concerts, or sports.
A Leap in Video Capabilities
The EOS R6 Mark III offers 7K 60p internal RAW video recording to a CFexpress Type B card, and is the first EOS R series camera to feature 3:2 Open Gate recording (up to 7K 30p RAW) for flexible reframing in post-production — ideal for both horizontal and vertical formats.
Users can record 7K 60p RAW while simultaneously capturing smaller proxy files or 4K DCI Fine MP4 videos to an SD card. Expanded recording formats include Canon Log 2, HLG gamma, and internal RAW recording, alongside existing Canon Log 3 and HDR PQ.
Compatibility with the Cinema EOS Custom Picture (CP) profiles and Canon LUT Library provides greater flexibility for professional workflows. The camera also supports waveform monitors, false colour, and zebra displays for precise exposure control, along with AWB Response and Shockless WB features for seamless white balance transitions during video shoots.
For creative users, the camera includes 14 Color Filters for instant colour grading effects, SF mode for up to 60x fast-motion 4K recording, and slow-motion capture up to 7.5x (2K DCI).
Refined Body and Design
The EOS R6 Mark III retains the reliable build of its predecessor while introducing enhanced button customisation and ergonomics for handheld vertical shooting. It uses the LP-E6P battery and supports the BG-R20/BG-R20EP battery grip for extended shoots.
RF45mm F1.2 STM: f/1.2 Made Accessible
As Canon’s first f/1.2 lens of its class, the RF45mm F1.2 STM combines compactness, affordability, and stunning bokeh. It offers excellent low-light performance and a natural field of view ideal for portraits, street photography, and everyday storytelling.
On APS-C cameras, it delivers a 72mm equivalent focal length, perfect for close-ups and portraits. The f/1.2 aperture produces smooth, creamy bokeh, while stopping down to f/8 ensures professional-grade edge-to-edge sharpness.
Weighing only 346g, it is Canon’s smallest f/1.2 lens across both EF and RF lineups. The design leverages PMo aspherical elements, gear-type STM technology, and digital lens correction for optimal optical performance in a lightweight body.
Paired with the EOS R6 Mark III, the lens complements Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system and 5-axis image stabilisation, enabling sharp, low-noise results even in challenging lighting conditions.
