Cheer For the Young Achievement
December 5, 2023The ASEAN Festival 2023 entered its third day with a vibrant celebration of youthful accomplishments at the LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre in Kuala Lumpur. Titled “ASEAN Festival 2023: Celebrating Youth Achievements,” the event took center stage in acknowledging the outstanding contributions of young individuals from diverse backgrounds and ages across the ASEAN nations.
In collaboration with GenYouth, the Youth Achievement Records (YAR) ceremony added an extra layer of significance to the festival. YAR aims to recognize and document the achievements of young talents in various fields, fostering a sense of unity and pride within the ASEAN community while highlighting the remarkable accomplishments of its youth.
The festival served as a dynamic platform to spotlight the talents and contributions of the youth in areas such as arts, culture, sports, entrepreneurship, and more. Day 3 of the ASEAN Festival was dedicated to showcasing the impactful contributions made by YAR recipients, emphasizing their outstanding achievements in shaping the environment, economy, and society on a global scale.
The YAR presentation ceremony featured special performances by accomplished individuals, a fashion show, and a magic show by ALIST Academy Malaysia. The event culminated with performances by embassy attendees, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.
Notable YAR recipients included Crystal Ong Shir Ching, recognized for her achievements in music and publishing at a young age, and Coach Low Jia Cheng and the Esports Team, securing historic eSports victories. Other honorees encompassed achievements in ultra-marathon swimming, contributions to children’s welfare, academic excellence in music education, and triumph in international variety shows.
The ASEAN Festival 2023: Celebrating Youth Achievement aimed to applaud these accomplishments and encourage collaboration and instill a sense of pride and unity among ASEAN youth. By showcasing and recognizing their achievements, the festival created a positive and empowering environment, fostering growth and development for the young talents within the ASEAN region.
