Sony has expanded its ULT POWER SOUND lineup with the new ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5, two party speakers designed for those who want more bass, louder sound, and plenty of features to keep the party going.

Whether you are hosting a house party, DJing, dancing, or setting up a karaoke session, the new ULT TOWER speakers are built to deliver a more powerful and immersive listening experience.

Bigger Bass, Stronger Sound

At the heart of the new speakers is Sony’s newly developed large circular woofer, which works together with a large-capacity cabinet and ULT DUCT to produce deeper and more powerful low-frequency bass.

Sony has also worked with several hip-hop sound creators and producers, including Grammy-nominated producer Dot Da Genius, drummer and producer Daru Jones, DJ and producer Dready, and audio engineer and producer Dennis “ROC.am” Jones.

Their feedback helped Sony fine-tune the speakers for deeper bass, stronger impact and clearer vocals.

Both models come with Sony’s ULT sound modes, giving listeners more flexibility depending on how they want their music to sound. ULT1 enhances the deep bass, while ULT2 pushes the bass and sound pressure even further for a more physical listening experience.

FLAT mode offers a more natural, true-to-source sound, while LIVE mode creates a spacious, performance-like atmosphere without sacrificing vocal clarity. Users can further adjust the sound through Custom EQ in the Sony | Sound Connect app.

ULT TOWER 7 for Bigger Parties

The ULT TOWER 7 is the more powerful model of the two, delivering up to 420W of output and featuring 360° Party Sound. The speaker is designed to spread sound around the room, so everyone can enjoy powerful bass and clear vocals wherever they stand.

Sony’s Sound Field Optimization can also analyse the speaker’s placement and surrounding noise before adjusting the sound balance across the frequency range. This helps maintain a more balanced sound whether the speaker is being used indoors or outdoors.

The ULT TOWER 7 can also be positioned vertically or horizontally, giving users more flexibility when setting up their space.

ULT TOWER 5 Packs the Bass into a Smaller Design

For those who want a more compact setup, the ULT TOWER 5 delivers up to 300W of output while still focusing heavily on bass and sound pressure.

Like the ULT TOWER 7, it can be positioned vertically or horizontally, making it easier to fit into different spaces.

Both models also support XLR, RCA, and USB-C connectivity, making them suitable for everything from casual listening to DJ setups and karaoke.

Compatible speakers can also be connected in stereo configuration for a wider soundstage when more coverage is needed.

Party Lighting and Karaoke

Sony has added new lighting modes to help match the atmosphere. BEAT synchronises the lighting with the rhythm of the music, WAVE creates more dynamic ambient effects, while MELLOW uses slower lighting patterns for a more relaxed mood.

Karaoke fans can pair the speakers with Sony’s optional ULTMIC1 microphone for a more dedicated vocal setup.

The new Party Chain feature also uses Auracast broadcast technology to connect multiple compatible Sony speakers and synchronise both the music and lighting, making it easier to create a larger party setup.

Easier to Move Around

Despite their size, Sony has designed both speakers with portability in mind. They come with carry handles designed for a more comfortable grip, while the ULT TOWER 7 gets upgraded wheels with wider treads to make moving it across different surfaces easier.

Both speakers have an IPX4 rating when positioned vertically, giving users some added flexibility for outdoor use.

Battery life is also designed for longer sessions, with the ULT TOWER 7 offering up to 30 hours of playback and the ULT TOWER 5 providing up to 20 hours.

Supporting the Dance Community

Sony is also taking its ULT POWER SOUND lineup into the dance community through its partnership with Red Bull Dance Your Style 2026.

As an official wireless speaker partner, Sony will support events including the National Final USA in September and the World Final in Switzerland in October. The partnership is part of Sony’s effort to support and contribute to the growth of the global dance community.

Recycled Materials

The new speakers also incorporate recycled materials as part of Sony’s environmental efforts. Approximately 20% of the total plastic used in both the ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5 comes from recycled plastic.

Pricing and Availability

The Sony ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5 are available in Malaysia from 2 September 2026.

The ULT TOWER 7 has a recommended retail price of RM2,999, while the ULT TOWER 5 is priced at RM2,199.

For the current early promotion, the ULT TOWER 7 is available at RM2,399 after RM600 off, while the ULT TOWER 5 is available at RM1,499 after RM700 off.

For anyone looking for a party speaker that puts bass and volume at the centre of the experience, the new ULT TOWER lineup is clearly designed to bring a more energetic, live-event feel into the home or outdoor gathering.
