Cashless Revolution Unveiled at the ASEAN Festival Extravaganza
December 5, 2023The ASEAN Festival Cashless Day Extravaganza recently kicked off at the bustling LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre in Kuala Lumpur, marking a significant milestone in promoting cashless payments and financial inclusion within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This prime location in the heart of Kuala Lumpur served as the perfect backdrop for a celebration of rich cultures and traditions from the diverse ASEAN region.
The festival, spanning multiple days, aimed to showcase the cultural tapestry of ASEAN while emphasizing the benefits of cashless transactions. The shift towards a cashless society not only enhances convenience but also boosts the efficiency and security of financial transactions. Day 2 of the festival treated visitors to a visual feast of Malaysia’s colors, complemented by cultural performances from Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Timor-Leste.
The organizers strived to create an inclusive and immersive experience, blending various cultures and experiences. Special features included an exclusive VIP Tour of the ASEAN Festival Market, ASEAN Travel Fair, and ASEAN Embassies. Sponsors were treated to an intimate unplugged session, enhancing their engagement with the festivities.
With representatives from all ten ASEAN member countries, the festival served as a pivotal platform to demonstrate the advantages of cashless payments. Trust in digital transactions is built on robust security measures, safe transaction processes, and user-friendly features, all of which were highlighted throughout the event.
Governments across ASEAN recognize the importance of transitioning to cashless societies. The festival featured 100 booths offering a diverse range of products, from food and drinks to authentic art and crafts. Attendees could enjoy various performances and participate in lucky draws with prizes ranging from Vanzo perfume sets to food or cash vouchers and razor gadgets.
