Samsung Global Goals App Helps Raise Awareness and Donations
February 22, 2024Samsung Electronics has introduced a new Thank-you gift feature, aiming to reward users for supporting the Samsung Global Goals app and contributing to the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. This feature is specifically for Galaxy users, who can now receive special limited-edition wallpapers and additional gifts to show their support for the Global Goals.
The Samsung Global Goals app, created in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is accessible in 89 languages and has engaged nearly 300 million Galaxy users globally. Through this app, Samsung encourages the Galaxy community to learn about the Global Goals and contribute by either making direct donations or watching in-app advertisements to generate donations. Since its launch four years ago, the Galaxy community has raised over USD 17 million to support the Global Goals and enhance resilience worldwide.
Despite the progress made towards the Global Goals, recent reports from the United Nations highlight challenges and setbacks in some areas. Samsung believes that now more than ever, it is crucial for the Galaxy community to demonstrate commitment and make a positive impact.
The Thank-you gifts feature is part of Samsung’s ongoing efforts to motivate the Galaxy community to take action. The Samsung Global Goals app users can be the first to redeem special limited-edition wallpapers for their Samsung Galaxy smartphones and watch faces. Initially, Samsung will offer three collections featuring different endangered species and habitats in black-and-white and chrome styles. These collections include black rhinos, sea turtles, sea otters, whale sharks, coral reefs, and grasslands.
Every user engaging with the app will receive a free wallpaper or watch face, providing them with an opportunity to contribute to the Global Goals and receive rewards. Users can also unlock access to more special designs by donating through the app to celebrate their contributions. Samsung plans to introduce new Thank-you gift options with additional collections throughout the year.
