Reno12 F is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 platform. With the improved power optimization for heavy-loaded scenarios, providing balanced performances whenever needed. 

For a Reno series is built in with 12GB of RAM plus a huge 512GB of storage OPPO’s RAM Expansion technology can also temporarily convert up to 12GB of unused ROM space into additional RAM which provides a smoother experience

Rounding out the Trinity Engine is ROM-Vita technology. The updated edition can now perform lossless compression on infrequently used apps and manage duplicate files to reduce unnecessary storage use.

The Camera

The camera on the Reno12F offers a different experience compared to previous models. If you’re familiar with using a DSLR camera, you’ll recognize the need to adjust the exposure to capture the best shots. Similarly, with the Reno12F camera, you’ll need to experiment with the Exposure Value (EV) settings until you achieve the desired results.

Initially, mastering the EV settings with varying lighting conditions may seem challenging. However, with practice, you will become more adept at adjusting these settings. For instance, when taking indoor photographs or shooting in strong lighting conditions, I typically adjust the EV by adding 0.3 to 0.7 to enhance color tones. In well-lit environments, the default settings usually suffice.

Outdoor photography can be more challenging, particularly when dealing with strong lighting and subjects caught in intense exposure. The camera must effectively handle these conditions to produce clear images. 

Night photography presents its own set of difficulties, especially in poorly lit areas. To achieve the best results, it is advisable to shoot in well-lit surroundings, as this helps to mitigate the camera’s limitations in low-light conditions. This is a notable drawback of the Reno12F.

The camera’s zoom function operates quickly, but video recording can only be done from a single angle at a time. For portrait photography during the day, the Reno12F performs well with minimal challenges, though night-time portrait shots can be more difficult.

The Latest Edition in the Reno Series

The OPPO Reno12 Series introduces an innovative feature known as AI Recording Summary. This cutting-edge addition transforms recorded audio into concise summaries, making it easier to convey messages effectively and efficiently. To utilize this feature, ensure that your recording is at least 20 seconds long; recordings shorter than this may not generate a summary. This advancement enhances communication by distilling lengthy recordings into clear and accessible summaries, streamlining how you share information.

AI Toolbox

The AI Toolbox is a new feature powered by Google Gemini and Microsoft Azure. Located in the sidebar, it offers personalized recommendations for various AI functions based on your current activities. This tool enhances your productivity by suggesting relevant AI capabilities tailored to what you’re working on.

AI Writer

While composing social media posts, the AI Writer assists you by generating inspirational and engaging text to enhance your content. This feature helps you create compelling and impactful messages effortlessly.

AI Summary

If you find yourself overwhelmed by a lengthy newsletter and need to pinpoint important information, AI Summary can assist by extracting key details from extensive text passages on web pages or supported apps. This feature helps you quickly identify critical points, making it easier to digest essential content.

AI Speak

AI Speak is ideal for those with a busy schedule or when you need to send an important note to friends while multitasking, such as getting dressed or preparing for an event. This feature uses AI-generated text-to-speech technology to read the contents of a page aloud, allowing you to stay productive without needing to manually read through text.

AI Eraser 2.0 

AI Eraser 2.0 offers more freedom to remove unwanted objects. Removing people works well in medium-scale crowds but can look unrealistic in larger crowds. In crowded places like landscapes, buildings, or restaurants, AI can help by recognizing and removing people with a simple snap and tap.

AI Studio

AI Studio offers a more realistic take on avatars by using your actual picture. I’ve experimented with a few samples in AI Studio, and to fully explore its features, you need a strong internet connection, as these functions won’t work offline.

You can choose between creating single or group photos. This feature is both cool and interactive for social media posts. At the bottom of the photo, it will indicate that it is an AI-generated image.

To use AI Studio, select various photos, tap on one, strike your current pose, and let the AI generate a digital persona of you.

BeaconLink 

The Reno12 series introduces unique features not found in previous models. For instance, when you’re in a crowded place with poor smartphone coverage and need to communicate urgently, you can still make calls even without data or network coverage. This feature is exclusive to the OPPO Reno12 and works only with the same brand and model.

This functionality uses a Bluetooth connection and works at distances of up to 200 meters. Developed by OPPO, this innovative feature ensures that communication remains possible even when traveling by flight or in remote locations without network coverage. It maintains a connection between you and your friends, functioning similarly to a walkie-talkie.

360 NFC

You’ve heard about NFC, but what does 360 mean? With this feature, you don’t need to align your phone precisely with the card reader. Instead, you can tap your Reno12 against the reader from any direction, transforming it into a convenient all-in-one access card, travel card, bank card, and more.
