Xiaomi and Polyphony Digital have officially announced a landmark partnership at Round One of the Gran Turismo World Series 2025, marking a major milestone for both the gaming and automotive industries. As part of this collaboration, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra — the brand’s flagship high-performance electric vehicle — will make its debut in the world-renowned racing simulator Gran Turismo 7, available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. This marks the first time a Xiaomi model will appear in the Gran Turismo franchise.

Widely celebrated as one of the most realistic and technically sophisticated racing simulators, Gran Turismo has long been a proving ground for automotive innovation. Its ability to authentically replicate real-world vehicle dynamics makes it more than just a game — it’s a platform that bridges the gap between virtual racing and engineering excellence. The inclusion of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in Gran Turismo 7 highlights the growing impact of intelligent, high-performance EVs in the global auto landscape.

This partnership follows a pivotal meeting in May 2025 between Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi and Xiaomi Group Founder, Chairman, and CEO Lei Jun in Beijing. During the visit, Yamauchi took the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra for a test drive and toured the brand’s state-of-the-art EV facility in Yizhuang. The firsthand experience of Xiaomi’s cutting-edge engineering left a strong impression.

Commenting on the collaboration, Kazunori Yamauchi shared:

“We are delighted to begin this partnership with Xiaomi. The Chinese automotive industry has made extraordinary progress, and Xiaomi — as a newcomer — has already built a remarkable vehicle with the SU7, forming a vital link in its connected smart ecosystem. The SU7 Ultra Prototype has also made history at the Nürburgring, showing just how far Xiaomi is willing to push the envelope. I was truly moved by the brand’s courage, passion, and relentless drive to achieve such feats. These qualities align perfectly with the spirit of Gran Turismo and Polyphony Digital.”

Lei Jun echoed this sentiment, stating:

“We deeply resonate with Mr. Yamauchi’s vision of building a better society through technology. This is fully aligned with Xiaomi’s mission to make innovation accessible and improve lives around the world. We are honored to see Xiaomi SU7 Ultra featured in Gran Turismo — a franchise that stands for quality, precision, and an unparalleled driving experience. We look forward to introducing global players to the power and elegance of our smart EVs.”

During the event, Yamauchi singled out the SU7 Ultra as a standout in the EV category, noting that its impressive Nürburgring lap time reflects Xiaomi EV’s engineering prowess. Designed from the ground up to deliver uncompromising performance, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra integrates breakthrough technologies, including the self-developed HyperEngine V8s, spinning at 27,200 rpm and generating 578 PS and 635 N·m. Combined with a tri-motor layout, the vehicle achieves a total system output of 1,548 PS, a top speed of over 350 km/h, and an acceleration of 0–100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds.

This performance is complemented by an aerodynamic body crafted with 21 carbon fiber components covering 5.5 square meters — a fusion of weight optimization, engineering precision, and luxury aesthetics. From torque vectoring to adaptive damping, every element of the vehicle is tested under race-level stress, ensuring that the technology not only performs under pressure but also translates seamlessly to real-world safety and control.

Xiaomi’s test and development efforts are deeply rooted in on-track validation. At legendary circuits like the Nürburgring Nordschleife, Xiaomi EV’s R&D team — led by Chief Test Driver Zhoucan Ren — continuously pushes the boundaries of electric performance. According to Ren,

“Our team will maintain a continuous presence at the Nürburgring to relentlessly refine our products and push the limits of what’s possible in high-performance luxury vehicles.”

This deep commitment to engineering excellence ensures that the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in Gran Turismo 7 will deliver an authentic experience, replicating the same high-speed dynamics, acceleration, and visual elegance found in the real-world model. Through a collaborative development process, the virtual SU7 Ultra will not only look the part — it will feel like driving the real car.

Looking ahead, Xiaomi and Gran Turismo have even bigger plans. Both companies will work together to create the Xiaomi VISION GRAN TURISMO, a concept vehicle that will represent the next chapter in digital automotive innovation.

With this historic debut in Gran Turismo 7, Xiaomi is not just entering the world of gaming — it is redefining what’s possible for smart EVs on both the virtual track and real-world roads.
