Sony is refreshing its wireless headphone lineup in Malaysia with three models designed for different types of listeners — from travellers and music lovers looking for stronger noise cancellation to students and everyday users who simply want comfortable wireless audio.

Leading the refreshed lineup is the WH-1000XM4C, an updated version of Sony’s popular WH-1000XM4. Alongside it, Sony is introducing the WH-CH730N and WH-CH530, offering more affordable options for everyday listening.

WH-1000XM4C: The Familiar Favourite Gets an Update

The WH-1000XM4C builds on the design and noise-cancelling experience of the well-known WH-1000XM4.

Sony has updated the sound tuning to better match current music preferences and added a 10-band equaliser, allowing listeners to customise the sound according to their personal taste.

The headphones continue to use Sony’s 1000X Series noise-cancellation technology, designed to reduce everyday distractions such as traffic, crowds and travel noise.

Sony has also improved call quality, making the WH-CH730N a practical choice for hybrid workers, online meetings and students who need to switch between entertainment and communication throughout the day.

Battery life is rated at up to 50 hours with noise cancellation switched on, while a quick three-minute charge can provide around one hour of playback.

For calls, Precise Voice Pickup Technology combines beamforming microphones, optimised microphone placement and AI-powered noise reduction to help keep voices clearer in noisy surroundings.

The headphones also support features such as Multipoint connection, Fast Pair, Swift Pair and LE Audio, giving users more flexibility when connecting to their devices.

WH-CH530: Simple Wireless Listening for Everyday Use

At the entry level, the WH-CH530 focuses on keeping things lightweight, comfortable and affordable.

The on-ear headphones weigh in at just 147g, making them suitable for extended listening, online classes, meetings, music and streaming.

Battery life is one of its highlights, with up to 55 hours of playback, while a three-minute quick charge provides around 1.5 hours of listening.

The WH-CH530 also features AI noise reduction for clearer hands-free calls and customisable EQ settings for users who want to adjust their listening experience.

Sony has added a five-step maximum volume control, giving users an option to manage listening levels with hearing protection in mind.

The headphones are available in Black, White, Pink, Cobalt, Coral and Mint, giving users more choice if they want something beyond the usual black headphones.

The WH-CH530 has a recommended retail price of RM239, with an introductory price of RM229.
