Samsung Electronics recently concluded its first-ever Odyssey Cup, an esports virtual tournament that brought together professional gamers, influencers, and gaming enthusiasts from the Southeast Asia region. The tournament, featuring the popular game Valorant, took place from November 11 to December 17, captivating audiences with exciting live broadcasts.

The Odyssey Cup aimed to foster a vibrant atmosphere within the esports community, providing a platform for gamers to share and celebrate their passion. The tournament showcased a diverse selection of Samsung gaming monitors, with influencers praising the exceptional visuals and speed of the Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor—a 49″ curved screen with AI upscaling and an incredibly fast 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time.

Rapid Lofi, led by FL Layla/Layla2k4 from Vietnam, emerged as the Samsung Odyssey Cup Champion after two months of intense competition. The grand final, held on December 17, saw the top three teams—Rapid Lofi, Kadiliman, and Frootielooops—competing for the championship title.

Influencers Afiqchii from Malaysia, Layla2k4 from Vietnam, and Notesoteric from Singapore expressed their excitement for more Samsung tournaments. They hope for a full-scale on-ground event in the next season to fully experience Samsung monitors and connect with players from other regions in person.

Fans were not left out of the excitement, as they enjoyed Odyssey gaming experiences with promo codes for savings on selected models of Odyssey monitors during live streams on the Official Samsung Odyssey Twitch Channel and key opinion leaders’ social media channels.

The esports community-building initiative involved eight influencers from various countries, leading handpicked teams for their respective campaigns. Each team comprised four fans recruited by the influencers, competing for a total prize pool of US$10,000.

Influencers played a crucial role in mentoring their teams throughout the competition, shaping a new generation of shoutcasters, analysts, hosts, and more. The tournament also provided a unique opportunity for influencers to showcase their gaming skills and deepen their passion for esports.

The Odyssey Cup featured group stage matches hosted at Orange Esports Café in Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur, with notable influencers from Malaysia. Attendees enjoyed the gaming action, with the chance to earn Valorant points and win Samsung Smart Monitor M5s.

On December 17, one fortunate winner from each country walked away with a Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor. Denny Kim, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics, expressed delight at the success of the inaugural Odyssey Cup and pledged continued engagement with the gaming community through exciting activities, content, and cutting-edge Samsung Odyssey gaming monitors. The event showcased Samsung’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and electrifying gaming culture in the Southeast Asia region.
