Samsung’s Odyssey Cup Unites Southeast Asia’s Gaming Community
January 29, 2024Samsung Electronics recently concluded its first-ever Odyssey Cup, an esports virtual tournament that brought together professional gamers, influencers, and gaming enthusiasts from the Southeast Asia region. The tournament, featuring the popular game Valorant, took place from November 11 to December 17, captivating audiences with exciting live broadcasts.
The Odyssey Cup aimed to foster a vibrant atmosphere within the esports community, providing a platform for gamers to share and celebrate their passion. The tournament showcased a diverse selection of Samsung gaming monitors, with influencers praising the exceptional visuals and speed of the Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor—a 49″ curved screen with AI upscaling and an incredibly fast 0.03ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time.
Rapid Lofi, led by FL Layla/Layla2k4 from Vietnam, emerged as the Samsung Odyssey Cup Champion after two months of intense competition. The grand final, held on December 17, saw the top three teams—Rapid Lofi, Kadiliman, and Frootielooops—competing for the championship title.
Influencers Afiqchii from Malaysia, Layla2k4 from Vietnam, and Notesoteric from Singapore expressed their excitement for more Samsung tournaments. The Odyssey Cup featured group stage matches hosted at Orange Esports Café in Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur, with notable influencers from Malaysia. Attendees enjoyed the gaming action, with the chance to earn Valorant points and win Samsung Smart Monitor M5s.
On December 17, one fortunate winner from each country walked away with a Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor.
