Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest innovation: Eclipsa Audio, a revolutionary 3D audio technology developed in collaboration with Google. Set to debut in Samsung’s 2025 TVs and soundbars, Eclipsa Audio empowers creators to produce dynamic, immersive soundscapes while offering consumers an unparalleled entertainment experience.

“We are thrilled to integrate Eclipsa Audio into our 2025 lineup,” said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D for Samsung’s Visual Display Business. “This innovation unlocks new possibilities for immersive audio, reinforcing our leadership in shaping the future of home entertainment.”

Redefining Home Entertainment

With 18 consecutive years as the global leader in TV sales, Samsung continues to push the boundaries of home entertainment. The integration of Eclipsa Audio builds on this legacy, bringing an advanced audio experience to a broader audience.

Samsung’s TVs, which dominate the market for displays over 75 inches, will now feature Eclipsa Audio across the 2025 lineup, from the accessible Crystal UHD series to the premium Neo QLED 8K models. This ensures that consumers can experience cutting-edge audio technology regardless of their budget or preferences.

Eclipsa Audio enables creators to adjust sound placement, intensity, and spatial reflections, creating a 3D sound experience that immerses viewers in every scene.

Expanding Content and Access

Starting in 2025, creators will be able to upload videos with Eclipsa Audio tracks to YouTube. Samsung users with 2025 TVs and soundbars can enjoy premium spatial audio when available, making YouTube content more engaging than ever.

To ensure consistent audio quality, Samsung and Google are collaborating with the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) to establish a certification program for Eclipsa Audio-compatible devices. This partnership guarantees that consumers experience exceptional sound fidelity.

“Eclipsa Audio has the potential to transform the way we experience sound,” said Jim Bankoski, Vice President of Engineering at Google Chrome. “We can’t wait to see how creators harness its power to deliver innovative and immersive audio experiences.”

A New Era of Audio and Visual Entertainment

By integrating Eclipsa Audio, Samsung reaffirms its commitment to providing industry-leading home entertainment solutions. This partnership with Google marks a significant step toward making spatial audio technology accessible to creators and consumers alike, promising a richer, more immersive entertainment experience for all.
