OPPO Reno11 Pro Review: The Highlight Is You 

On January 11th, 2024, the OPPO Reno11 Pro was officially launched, boasting a rich design that quickly captured the attention of many across Babbling Channel’s Social Media platforms. 

The smartphone’s unboxing drew significant interest, with numerous viewers eagerly awaiting the unveiling. Opening the box reveals the highlight seated prominently at the forefront: a guideline booklet accompanied by a transparent case. 

Beneath lies the Type-C USB cable along with an 80W fast-charging brick. Now, let’s immerse ourselves in the captivating world of the OPPO Reno11 Pro.

Design 

The Reno11 Pro boasts a sophisticated design featuring 3D curved glass on both the front and back, providing a luxurious satin finish that can be felt as your fingers glide across the smartphone’s surface. With a slim and precisely curved body weighing 181g, the Rock Grey variant measures an impressive 7.59mm, while the Pearl White variant is slightly slimmer at 7.66mm.

The device is available in two elegant colors – Pearl White and Rock Grey. The Pearl White variant stands out with its unique three-layered glass, incorporating 3.6 million tiny reflective surfaces, creating a distinctive luster.

On the other hand, the Rock Grey variant showcases layers of bright and soft silver grey, resembling the glint of sand under a striking sunset, resulting in a captivating glow finish. The Reno11 Pro features a stunning 6.7-inch 3D curved OLED screen that delivers vivid colors and brightness. Its slim bezels on both sides contribute to a seamless design that comfortably fits in the palm of your hand.

Camera 

Before delving into the camera features, it’s worth noting that in my previous review of the OPPO Reno10 Pro, I highlighted a setback related to low-light performance that needed improvement. 

However, I am pleased to acknowledge a significant improvement in this aspect. The strides made are commendable, and I’m impressed with the results. I hope to see even more enhancements in the future, considering OPPO has a vast fan base, many of whom express a preference for OPPO due to its impressive camera capabilities.

Main 

For capturing the most exceptional shots, utilizing the main camera is key. The optimized engine, working seamlessly behind the powerful 50 MP lens, employs AI to prioritize color tone, texture, facial expressions, and background details. This intricate process results in producing a natural and vibrant representation of yourself against a live backdrop.

When it comes to day photography, the camera performs admirably under varying exposure conditions. Whether you find yourself in high-exposure or low-exposure settings, the AI steps in to analyze and bring forth incredible shots. 

The outcome is so impressive that you can confidently share these unedited images on your social media platforms, eliminating the need for additional editing.

Night Photography 

I must highlight the remarkable improvements made by the Reno11 Pro in low-light conditions, as evident in the photos you are currently observing. These shots were captured in a dimly lit alley, and with a single click, the camera effectively illuminated the dark areas while maintaining the natural skin tone and texture. 

When taking pictures in low-light environments, it’s advisable to wait until the focusing ring is complete. The lens, working in tandem with the AI engine, ensures optimal results, and this simple tip can significantly enhance the quality of your photos.

In a high-color contrast background, where some smartphone models struggle to detect and reproduce accurate skin tones, the Reno11 Pro surpassed expectations. The resulting images left me in awe, resembling professional photoshoots.

However, some areas require improvement. Zooming, for instance, exhibits a noticeable delay and feels akin to gear shifting, taking seconds to readjust. Additionally, video recording in low-light conditions shows some fuzziness and lacks clarity, especially when capturing fast movements.

To address this, slowing down your movements during recording is recommended. On the brighter side, daytime recording or shooting in well-lit environments, such as shopping malls, poses no issues, and the clarity of the videos makes them suitable for direct sharing on your social media platforms.

Telephoto

Exploring the capabilities of the 32MP Telephoto lens on the Reno11 Pro is a must, especially when capturing close-up shots. The clarity it offers is remarkable, with every detail meticulously pronounced. Even when zooming in or enlarging the photo, there’s no break or fuzziness, allowing for a seamless and detailed image.

For an even more impressive display of detail, try taking close-up shots in a location with a slight spotlight shining on the subject’s face. This will highlight the intricate levels of detail, capturing strands of hair and even eyelashes with precision. The Reno11 Pro excels in delivering crisp shots at up to 5x zoom, making it an ideal choice for those who appreciate high-quality and detailed photography

Portrait Expert 

OPPO has consistently led the forefront of innovation in portrait technology, and with each new device they release, there is no disappointment. The Reno11 Pro, equipped with an Ultra-Clear Portrait camera, introduces the AI Portrait feature, providing users with the experience of having their studio in the palm of their hands at an affordable price.

Behind the lens, the AI Portrait mode employs a sophisticated process. It combines Facial Recognition with Subject/Scene Separation, ensuring the recognition and optimization of diverse faces and various objects to achieve a naturally enhanced result. 

The technology goes further by protecting skin color and facial features, allowing characteristic traits like moles or birthmarks to be retained while still flattering the overall appearance.

The Reno11 Pro’s mapping of layers is precise, resulting in a beautiful, realistic soft-focus background with a gradual detail fall-off from a crisp, in-focus subject. The 2x portrait look is carefully calibrated to offer a perspective similar to the human eye, ensuring undistorted, familiar-looking faces and the most natural soft-focus background. 

This comprehensive approach to portrait photography enhances the overall user experience, making the Reno11 Pro a standout device in capturing stunning and lifelike portraits.

Front Camera 

The Reno11 Pro further stands out with its dedicated front-camera optimizations, featuring a 32MP Autofocus sensor. This particular enhancement focuses on key areas such as lips and eyes, ensuring the most accurate shadowing and lipstick shades, as well as refining facial structures. 

These optimizations contribute to an elevated front-camera experience, allowing users to capture selfies with enhanced precision and attention to detail, especially in terms of facial features and makeup nuances.

Processor 

The Reno11 Pro is much faster than its older versions, thanks to the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset it uses.
