OPPO’s inaugural foldable smartphone, the OPPO Find N3, received a grand celebration in Malaysia, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd eager to witness and experience the innovative design of this device. Specifically crafted with the needs of business professionals and entrepreneurs in mind, the foldable nature of the OPPO Find N3 is tailored for individuals who often find themselves addressing urgent matters that demand immediate attention.
This foldable smartphone enables users to conduct video calls seamlessly even when they are away from the confines of their office. OPPO adopts a distinctive approach to showcase its products, presenting them in a spacious box. Upon opening the box, the OPPO Find N3 takes center stage, greeting you with its innovative features. Beneath the device, you’ll discover a 67W fast charging brick accompanied by a USB Type-C cable, along with informative guideline sheets.

For premium products, OPPO goes the extra mile, offering a premium-grade casing that adds an extra layer of sophistication to the overall package.
Design
Upon holding the Find N3, its slim and lightweight design becomes immediately apparent, offering an ergonomic grip on the frame. The bezel surrounding the device is notably slimmer, instilling confidence in the ease of opening and closing. The flat side, crafted from a metal frame, provides a perfect grip for the user.
Flipping to the back reveals the eye-catching Cosmo ring, which some may appreciate for its bold design, while others might view it as a drawback as it prevents the phone from lying flat. This initial observation highlights a potential setback. An added convenience is the Alert Slider, allowing seamless transitions between silent, vibrate, or ring modes without the need to unlock the phone.
The OPPO Find N3 is available in two captivating colors: Champagne Gold, adorned with rich frosted glass and a luxurious Cosmo ring camera, and Classic Black, featuring tactile vegan leather paired with a metal frame, creating an executive and sophisticated aesthetic.

What sets this design apart is its width rather than length, providing an ergonomic advantage. This allows users to efficiently handle basic tasks without unfolding the device, making it convenient for activities such as walking, driving, or attending to simple tasks.
The wider screen, fitting comfortably in the palm, aligns with the preference of many users, and the visuals on the front screen are comparable to the quality seen in the OPPO Reno series, ensuring an enjoyable viewing experience.
Unfold Screen
When the Find N3 unfolds, it reveals a spacious 7.8-inch AMOLED display with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, complemented by Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. This ensures an outstanding visual experience, regardless of your location. While the OPPO Find N3 may have already been introduced in other regions, its debut in Malaysia brings a noteworthy feature to the forefront.
Similar to the Flip variant, the display is adept at minimizing creases, offering a seamless browsing experience. In terms of audio, the Surround sound system utilizes three speakers working harmoniously to provide an immersive experience, ensuring true surround sound regardless of the smartphone’s position. Notably, the OPPO Find N3 supports Spatial Audio, enhancing the audio experience both through its speakers and when using compatible headphones or earbuds.
Camera
The primary function of foldable smartphones is to enhance multitasking capabilities, ensuring seamless work productivity even when you’re away from the office. The OPPO Find N3 captures intricate details throughout the day and night, showcasing the expertise of its main camera, particularly in portrait mode.
Noteworthy is the innovative “erase object” feature, allowing users to remove unwanted elements from their photos. However, there is room for improvement, as this feature currently works best for smaller items rather than larger objects, where the results may not achieve a smooth effect after implementation.
The front camera, boasting 32MP, performs exceptionally during the day, providing clear pictures with well-managed exposure and vibrant surroundings. Nighttime becomes a preferred testing ground, capitalizing on optimal lighting conditions for capturing surroundings with you in the frame.
However, nighttime photography, whether outdoors or indoors, tends to prioritize the subject, resulting in a blurry backdrop, which may not appeal to those wanting to capture both foreground and background images together.
When experimenting with filters, the front camera exhibits effectiveness, even for individuals with dark skin tones. Moving to the under-display camera, rated at 20MP, its primary purpose is for video calls, allowing for flexibility in folding the phone at any angle. The clarity of this camera remains consistent during both day and night, as long as you are in a well-lit environment.
The spotlight, however, shines brightest on the rear camera, featuring three distinct focal points: a 48MP Wide lens, a 48MP Ultra-wide lens, and a 64MP Telephoto lens. Users appreciate the natural lighting portrayal on skin tones, minimizing artificial effects. The results, whether zoomed in or out, deliver smooth and detailed images, with portraits standing out as a highlight.

How Beneficial is OPPO ColorOS?
OPPO ColorOS offers a range of beneficial features for an enhanced user experience on the Find N3. The Taskbar provides quick access to favorite apps, while the App Library organizes all device apps for convenient split-screen use. The File Pocket visually displays recent files and clipboard items, allowing easy integration into active apps.
With a simple tap, the dock on the Find N3’s display can be hidden for a full-screen experience and easily brought back into view. The innovative Boundless View feature redefines multitasking, enabling seamless navigation across two full-screen apps on the 7.8″ display. This expands beyond traditional split-screen multitasking, accommodating larger documents or extensive web browsing.
Users can activate three-app Boundless View, introducing a groundbreaking three-app split-screen view. This feature allows for dynamic app swiping and a tablet-like view. The 15″ Boundless View takes multitasking to the next level, offering a 15″ screen experience with three full-screen apps.
Users can even save their preferred Boundless View layouts for quick access from the home screen. Overall, OPPO ColorOS on the Find N3 introduces a versatile and intuitive interface that enhances productivity and multitasking capabilities.

Should you buy it?
Receiving commendable recommendations, the device features 16GB RAM and a Taskbar for swift access to preferred apps. Additionally, the App Library efficiently organizes all device applications, facilitating convenient split-screen usage. While the camera exhibits impressive portrait results, there is some room for improvement. The primary drawback lies in the pricing, which is positioned at a higher range within the competitive smartphone market. Considering it is the first time the OPPO foldable smartphone product has entered the Malaysian market, it might have benefited from a more cautious pricing strategy to attract consumers and establish a foothold.
