Midea Expands Retail Presence in Malaysia Through Partnership with 99 Speed Mart

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Midea, a global leader in smart home appliances, is expanding its retail presence in Malaysia through a strategic partnership with 99 Speed Mart, making its range of home appliances more accessible to consumers across the country.

The collaboration was formalised with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking another milestone in Midea’s long-term growth strategy in Malaysia.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mark Tam, Managing Director of Midea Malaysia, with Zeal Jiang, President of Midea Group’s Asia Pacific Region, serving as witness. Representing 99 Speed Mart were Yong Eng Kwang, Chief Operating Officer, while Lee Thiam Wah, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, witnessed the agreement.

The partnership builds on Midea’s growing retail network following the opening of 18 Midea Brand Stores nationwide last year. Together with its authorised dealers and the addition of 99 Speed Mart outlets, the expanded retail footprint gives more Malaysians easier access to the brand’s home appliance offerings.

“By partnering with 99 Speed Mart, we can reach more neighbourhoods across Malaysia and bring our latest home appliances closer to where consumers live and shop,” said Mark Tam, Managing Director of Midea Malaysia.

He added that the expanded retail network allows customers to conveniently purchase a range of Midea products, including blenders, electric kettles, rice cookers, fans, toasters, toaster ovens, vacuum cleaners and stoves, while complementing the brand’s existing stores and dealer network.

Lee Thiam Wah, founder and CEO of 99 Speed Mart, said the collaboration represents an important step in broadening the retailer’s product offerings.

The collaboration also supports Midea’s broader regional expansion strategy. During its Asia Pacific Dealer Conference held in Bali last year, the company introduced its Power of One vision, which focuses on strengthening product innovation, expanding retail channels and enhancing customer experience across the region. Expanding its retail footprint in Malaysia forms part of that long-term growth plan.

As demand continues to grow for smart, energy-efficient and practical home appliances, Midea aims to meet consumer needs by making its products available through more convenient retail locations nationwide.

Beginning August 2026, selected Midea small home appliances will be available at 99 Speed Mart outlets throughout Malaysia.
