December 3, 2025Huawei today announced updates for its smartwatch range, including new enhancements for eSIM connectivity through the MAXIS eSIM CONNECT PLAN on the HUAWEI WATCH 5 and HUAWEI WATCH ULTIMATE 2. With this update, both smartwatches can now operate independently, giving users direct access to calls, messages, and mobile data right from their wrist — even when their smartphone isn’t nearby.
With the latest upgrade, users can now share their primary mobile number and existing data allocation across both their smartphone and smartwatch via the MAXIS eSIM CONNECT PLAN. This ensures smooth, uninterrupted connectivity whether they’re working, exercising, travelling, or simply on the go. By allowing the smartwatch to function independently, users enjoy greater convenience and mobility throughout their day.
As part of the festive season, the HUAWEI WATCH 5 and HUAWEI WATCH ULTIMATE 2 are now available through Maxis Postpaid at more accessible monthly rates. Customers who sign up during this period will also enjoy a three-month waiver on the Maxis Connect Plan, giving them the perfect opportunity to experience the freedom of eSIM connectivity.
