CARSOME Records Strong Q2 Growth as Car Sales and Profitability Continue to Rise
September 9, 2026CARSOME is continuing to strengthen its position in Southeast Asia’s used-car market, with the company reporting another strong quarter of growth and profitability.
For the second quarter ended 30 June 2026, CARSOME Group Inc. sold 35,903 vehicles, representing an 11% increase year-on-year. The company also recorded quarterly EBITDA of approximately RM33 million, up 38% compared with the same period last year.
More importantly, this marks CARSOME’s tenth consecutive profitable quarter and its highest quarterly EBITDA to date.
Profit Growth Outpaces Vehicle Sales
CARSOME’s growth was not limited to the number of cars sold. Quarterly gross profit increased 15% year-on-year to approximately RM175 million, growing faster than vehicle sales.
The company attributed this improvement partly to a higher share of transactions involving its retail and financing services. As the business continues to scale, CARSOME is also seeing stronger operating leverage, allowing EBITDA to grow even faster than gross profit.
For customers, this points to CARSOME continuing to build more than just an online marketplace for used cars. Its integrated approach covers areas such as vehicle inspection, retail, trade-ins and financing, creating more opportunities to generate value from each transaction.
Eric Cheng, Co-Founder and Group CEO of CARSOME, said the second quarter delivered against the company’s targets for the year, with vehicle sales, gross profit and EBITDA all showing stronger growth.
He added that reaching ten consecutive quarters of positive EBITDA gives the Group a stronger foundation as it looks to expand sustainably across Southeast Asia.
CARSOME Continues Expanding Across Malaysia and Indonesia
Alongside its financial performance, CARSOME continued to expand its physical presence during the quarter.
In Malaysia, the company opened three new locations in Sungai Petani, Bukit Tinggi in Klang and Sungai Buloh, bringing its nationwide network to 55 inspection centres and showrooms.
The expansion also continued in Indonesia, where CARSOME added four new locations in Greater Jakarta. This brings its presence in the area to 10 inspection centres and showrooms.
CARSOME also strengthened its position in Malaysia through a new partnership with Suzuki Cars Malaysia, becoming its exclusive official trade-in partner. The partnership is expected to further expand CARSOME’s reach in vehicle trade-ins and retail.
What’s Next for CARSOME?
With the first half of 2026 showing continued growth, CARSOME says its priorities for the remainder of the year remain focused on three areas: growing transactions, improving unit economics and increasing operating leverage.
The company will be looking to build on its recent momentum while continuing to expand its presence across Southeast Asia’s used-car market.
With more physical locations, stronger retail and financing services, and ten consecutive profitable quarters behind it, CARSOME enters the second half of 2026 with a stronger financial base and an expanding regional footprint.
