Even in terms of specifications, the differences are relatively subtle. One of the more noticeable changes is the smartphone’s weight, while charging has also been upgraded, moving from 90W on the Xiaomi 15T Pro to 100W on the Xiaomi 17T Pro.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is my first hands-on experience with the T Series, and one thing that stands out is how Xiaomi continues to focus on delivering a more authentic photography experience.

The camera setup consists of a 50MP main wide camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera on the rear. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera with support for 4K video recording. For video enthusiasts, the Xiaomi 17T Pro also supports up to 8K video recording, along with 4K and 1080p recording options.

What makes the Xiaomi 17T Pro different is the Leica camera system. Instead of relying heavily on AI processing to make every image look more vibrant or increase contrast automatically, Xiaomi focuses more on giving users the ability to create their own style.

The Leica filters offer more authentic colour profiles, allowing users to choose different tones and moods depending on the type of photo they want to capture. With more control over the look and feel of an image, users can experiment with creating a more cinematic style rather than simply depending on AI enhancements.

Instead of relying only on AI processing, Xiaomi gives users more control to create a more natural and cinematic look, especially when capturing scenes with lighting.

The results speak for themselves — the Leica camera system helps produce night shots with better atmosphere, balanced lighting and a more professional feel.
