Samsung Malaysia Electronics is taking another step in supporting Malaysia’s digital education transformation with the introduction of the AI-Powered Classroom by Samsung programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

More than just a technology initiative, the programme reflects Samsung’s broader vision of democratising AI and digital access while helping prepare Malaysian students for an increasingly AI-driven future. Through pilot implementations at SMK Nilai Impian in Negeri Sembilan and SMKA Naim Lil Banat in Kelantan, supported by SNS Network (M) Sdn Bhd, Samsung is transforming conventional classrooms into fully integrated AI-powered learning environments designed to promote collaboration, engagement and digital literacy.

A Complete AI-Powered Learning Ecosystem

Unlike conventional device deployment programmes, Samsung’s AI-Powered Classroom delivers a comprehensive end-to-end ecosystem that supports both teaching and learning.

The classrooms are equipped with:

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ tablets for students
  • Interactive smartboards for teachers
  • Tablet charging stations
  • Air-conditioning systems
  • Supporting digital infrastructure

Together, these elements create a connected, comfortable and technology-enabled learning environment.

To further enhance the experience, the Ministry of Education invited Sasbadi Holdings Berhad to serve as the programme’s Strategic Content Partner.

Sasbadi introduced its flagship AI-powered learning platform, Ace-it, which offers:

  • Curriculum-aligned notes and exercises
  • Interactive learning tools
  • AI-powered learning assistance
  • Resources designed to reduce teachers’ administrative workload

The platform operates seamlessly across Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ devices and smartboards, creating a connected ecosystem for both educators and students.

Long-Term Commitment to Digital Education

Samsung highlighted that the initiative also leverages the company’s broader ecosystem strengths, enabling smooth connectivity across devices and platforms while creating a more intuitive teaching and learning experience.

The Galaxy Tab A9+ devices are supported by up to six years of operating system and security updates, helping schools maximise long-term value while ensuring device security and usability over an extended period.

The programme builds upon Samsung’s previous contributions to Malaysia’s education sector. In 2022, the company supported the national PerantiSiswa initiative by supplying Galaxy Tab A8 LTE devices to eligible university students from B40 households, benefiting hundreds of thousands of students nationwide.

Teachers See Improved Classroom Engagement

Educators involved in the programme have reported significant improvements in student engagement and lesson delivery.

According to Farah Faizura Binti Ahmad Rostam, a teacher at SMK Nilai Impian with more than two decades of teaching experience, the AI-Powered Classroom has transformed science education by helping students visualise complex concepts that are often difficult to explain through textbooks alone.

Meanwhile, fellow teacher Selvina A/P Sandiawo noted that the Galaxy Tab devices have enabled more interactive lessons, stronger classroom communication and a more immersive learning experience through seamless integration with digital whiteboards and other learning tools.

Students Benefit From Interactive Learning

Students have also embraced the new digital learning environment.

Nurhani Sumayyah Binti Azmal, a Form 3 student at SMK Nilai Impian, said AI-powered learning tools make science subjects easier to understand while reducing reliance on heavy textbooks. She added that AI-assisted explanations help students grasp difficult concepts more effectively and improve the efficiency of note-taking.

Another student, Avinesh A/L Ramalingam, highlighted how interactive and virtual learning features have made subjects such as Mathematics and Science more engaging and easier to understand than traditional textbook-based learning.

Preparing Malaysia for an AI-Driven Future

Charles Kim, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics, said the company remains committed to supporting Malaysia’s education and digital transformation agenda.

He noted that as Malaysia advances toward a future shaped by AI and digital technologies, providing students with access to modern learning tools and digital opportunities is critical to building a resilient and competitive nation.

From supporting device accessibility through the PerantiSiswa initiative to now establishing fully integrated AI-Powered Classrooms, Samsung aims to help nurture the next generation of Malaysians by giving them the tools and confidence to learn, create and innovate.

Through continued investments in education, digital infrastructure and accessibility, Samsung is reinforcing its role in helping Malaysia build a more inclusive, innovation-driven and future-ready society.
