Xiaomi Malaysia has officially unveiled the latest additions to its T Series smartphone lineup with the new Xiaomi 17T Pro and Xiaomi 17T. Combining an advanced Leica 5x telephoto camera, eye-care display technology and ultra-large capacity batteries, the Xiaomi 17T Series positions itself as an imaging-focused flagship lineup wrapped in a refined and modern design.

For the first time, Xiaomi is introducing dual sizes to the T Series lineup, delivering greater flexibility for different user preferences while maintaining a premium flagship-level experience.

Leica 5x Telephoto Camera Takes Mobile Photography Further

The Xiaomi 17T Series combines Leica optics with Xiaomi’s latest imaging technologies through a triple-camera system led by a 50MP main camera engineered for detailed and high-clarity photography.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro features a large 1/1.31-inch sensor, while the Xiaomi 17T uses a 1/1.55-inch sensor. Both devices integrate Leica UltraPure optical design alongside a 1G + 6P hybrid Leica Summilux lens structure for enhanced detail, improved dynamic range and natural depth rendering.

For the first time in the T Series, both models now feature a Leica 5x telephoto camera capable of capturing 50MP images with OIS support. The system supports macro photography from as close as 30cm, alongside 10x optical-grade zoom and up to 120x AI Ultra Zoom for flexible shooting across multiple focal lengths.

The telephoto system also enhances video capabilities, especially on the Xiaomi 17T Pro, which introduces the series’ first 4K 60fps cinematic recording mode with natural background bokeh effects for more immersive storytelling.

Specialised shooting modes such as Stage Mode are designed to improve clarity in difficult lighting environments, making the phones suitable for concerts, performances and live events.

Introducing Leica Live Moment

Moving beyond conventional photography, Xiaomi introduces Leica Live Moment — a new imaging experience designed to capture movement, emotion and the moments leading up to a scene.

Supported across all rear camera focal lengths, Leica Live Moment preserves motion and fleeting expressions while maintaining Leica’s signature visual aesthetic throughout every perspective.

Leica Live Portrait further enhances portrait photography by combining motion with natural bokeh effects for improved subject separation and more dynamic storytelling.

Exclusive Leica watermarks are also available for Leica Live Moment captures, while multiple moments can be combined into social-media-ready collages directly from the device.

Exclusive to the Xiaomi 17T Pro, Live Cinematography introduces Ultra-HD Live Moment in 4K alongside seamless zoom effects via Freestyle and Portrait Live Cinematography modes.

Xiaomi Vision Care Brings Smarter Eye Protection

The Xiaomi 17T Series also introduces Xiaomi Vision Care, integrating advanced eye-care technologies developed through medical research and display engineering.

The display automatically adapts to surrounding lighting conditions while intelligently managing blue light, flicker and motion blur to provide a more comfortable viewing experience throughout the day.

As a result, the Xiaomi 17T Series becomes the first in the lineup to receive TÜV Rheinland quadruple eye-care certification, alongside Xiaomi’s first TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care certification.

At the centre of the experience is a 1.5K AMOLED display capable of reaching 3500 nits peak brightness for improved visibility outdoors. The Xiaomi 17T Pro further enhances night-time viewing with hardware-level 1-nit minimum brightness support.

The Pro variant supports up to 144Hz refresh rate, while the Xiaomi 17T supports up to 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling, gaming and content playback.

Xiaomi 17T Pro also adopts advanced LIPO packaging technology, achieving symmetrical ultra-thin bezels measuring just 1.29mm on all four sides for a more immersive appearance.

Refined Design With Multiple Colour Options

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is available in Deep Blue, Deep Violet and Black, while the Xiaomi 17T comes in Opal White, Violet, Blue and Black.

Both devices feature brushed finishes, slimmer camera modules and micro-curved edges designed for improved ergonomics and a more premium in-hand feel.

The Xiaomi 17T additionally focuses on portability with a more compact and lightweight form factor optimised for one-handed usage.

Bigger Batteries and Next-Generation Performance

The Xiaomi 17T Series introduces Xiaomi’s latest silicon-carbon battery technology, enabling larger battery capacities with improved energy density and long-term efficiency.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro packs a massive 7000mAh battery — the largest ever on an international Xiaomi smartphone — delivering up to 1.88 days of usage for average users. It supports both 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge for faster top-ups.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T features a 6500mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge support despite its slimmer body design.

Performance is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset on the Xiaomi 17T Pro, built on a 3nm process, while the Xiaomi 17T uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra built on 4nm architecture.

Both devices are equipped with the Xiaomi 3D IceLoop System for advanced thermal management, helping maintain stable performance and cooler operating temperatures during heavy gaming or multitasking.

Xiaomi 17T Series Exhibition and Photowalk

In conjunction with the launch, Xiaomi is hosting “A Visual Journey with Xiaomi 17T Series” exhibition alongside KL Festival 2026 from 30 May until 1 June 2026 at Federal Hall 1 & 2, Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad.

Visitors can explore “The Decisive Moment” photography gallery at Federal Hall 1, alongside “Rumah Malaysia Then & Now” at Federal Hall 2, showcasing Xiaomi’s vision of smart home living.

The Xiaomi 17T Series can also be experienced firsthand at the experiential booth located at the River of Life.

Additionally, Xiaomi will organise a special photowalk led by photographer Yuji Haikal, allowing participants to explore creative photography techniques and practical shooting tips using the Xiaomi 17T Series.
