Toshiba Sales & Services Sdn. Bhd. has just introduced a groundbreaking addition to Malaysian homes—the NaturePURE Series 820L Refrigerator. Officially certified by the Malaysia Book of Records as the largest-capacity refrigerator in Malaysia, this new launch is more than a milestone; it’s a celebration of Toshiba’s 95-year legacy of innovation, reliability, and user-centric design.

As Toshiba marks nearly a century in the industry, the brand is doubling down on its commitment to creating smarter, more efficient home appliances that reflect the evolving lifestyle of modern households. “In 2025, Toshiba continues to chart strong growth by expanding our diversified product portfolio to reflect the evolving needs and values of today’s consumers,” said Mr. Steven Yang, Managing Director of Toshiba Sales & Services Sdn. Bhd. The company is targeting a 25% year-on-year growth compared to 2024, driven by surging demand for technology-forward, aesthetically refined products.

Toshiba’s momentum in the Malaysian market is clear. As of Q1 2025, the brand holds a 16.7% market share in refrigerators and 13.6% in washing machines—ranking second in both categories. Its microwave ovens also continue to perform strongly, holding a 10.5% market share. Across ASEAN, Toshiba maintains solid growth, with Thailand showing promising expansion and Japan remaining a key pillar of brand strength and consumer loyalty.

In line with its growth strategy, Toshiba is also enhancing its retail presence. Following the successful launch of its first brand store in Kuala Lumpur in 2024, the company now operates 14 brand stores across the country. Plans are in place to open a flagship outlet and roll out 50 Shop-in-Shop (SIS) locations nationwide by the end of 2025, making it easier for more Malaysians to access and experience Toshiba products first-hand.

The star of this new chapter is undoubtedly the NaturePURE 820L Refrigerator—the first four-door, side-by-side refrigerator in ASEAN with a capacity that exceeds 820 litres. Designed for multi-generational living, it offers expansive and compartmentalized storage to neatly organize everything from fresh produce and baby food to skincare and frozen items.

This impressive appliance isn’t just about space—it’s about smart, hygienic, and sustainable living. Key features include the PureAIR Sterilization System, which eliminates 99.99% of bacteria and 99% of odours through hourly purification; PureAIR Turbo Mode, which works three times faster than standard modes—ideal for strong-smelling traditional dishes; and the Pure ICE 3-Level System, which delivers clean, odourless ice using FDA-certified water systems. The Magic 2 Sizes Ice Maker is another industry first, producing both cubed and half-cubed ice in as fast as 95 minutes. All of this is powered by an eco-friendly R290 refrigerant system that cools 30% faster while minimizing environmental impact.

Looking ahead, Toshiba is set to expand its Japandi product lineup—an elegant blend of Japanese craftsmanship and Scandinavian minimalism. Following the success of the first Japandi-inspired refrigerator in 2024, the brand will soon introduce matching dishwashers, water purifiers, and other home appliances, bringing seamless aesthetics and functional elegance into Malaysian homes.

With innovation at its core and lifestyle-focused design at the forefront, Toshiba’s NaturePURE 820L is more than just a refrigerator—it’s a bold statement of how modern living should look and feel.
