The Chicken Rice Shop Ayam Mala B’Jan for CNY
January 20, 2024In the spirit of the Lunar New Year, The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS), a renowned homegrown halal food chain, is set to enthrall its patrons with the introduction of a special seasonal menu, Ayam Mala B’Jan. This exclusive offering is available from 22 January 2024 to 3 March 2024 across all TCRS outlets nationwide, adding a unique flavor to the Chinese New Year festivities.

“Ayam Mala B’Jan” is inspired by the traditional Chinese “Mala” flavor, known for its numbing (ma) and spicy (la) characteristics. This dish is a perfect amalgamation of sweet and spicy Mala flavors, topped with a nutty crunch of sesame, making it a festive delight that captures the essence of Chinese New Year.

Sesame, a key ingredient in this dish, is not only flavorful but also packs a punch of health benefits, providing calcium, fibre, and protein. Complementing the Ayam Mala B’Jan is the Mango Melon Splash, a refreshing beverage that enhances the overall dining experience.
Wong Kah Yong, the CEO of TCRS Restaurants Sdn Bhd, emphasizes the significance of Chinese New Year as a time for family and friends to come together. “Food has the power to unite people and create lasting memories. The Ayam Mala B’Jan menu is our way of celebrating this spirit of togetherness,” says Kah Yong.
Understanding the varying needs of their customers, TCRS offers a range of set meals suited for different group sizes, from intimate dinners to larger gatherings. These set meals are carefully curated to enrich the dining experience, reflecting the unity and joy of the season. Additionally, TCRS has made this special menu accessible through takeout and delivery options, catering to those who prefer to celebrate in the comfort of their homes.

Kah Yong adds, “At The Chicken Rice Shop, we are committed to creating exceptional dining experiences that resonate with Malaysia’s diverse and vibrant festive traditions. With Ayam Mala B’Jan, we uphold our promise of ‘Chicken rice and more,’ offering our customers the best of Malaysian cuisine infused with the spirit of celebration.”
