Sony Launches 1000X THE COLLEXION™: A New Premium Era

Sony Malaysia today announces 1000X THE COLLEXION™, a new premium addition to its award-winning 1000X series. Crafted with premium materials and meticulous attention to detail, the new model represents a refined expression of Sony’s long-standing headphone philosophy. While the 1000X lineup has continuously evolved to deliver exceptional sound and noise cancellation anywhere, 1000X THE COLLEXION focuses on elevated design, next-level comfort, and a more immersive listening experience.

The launch also marks the 10th anniversary of Sony’s iconic 1000X series. Since the debut of the MDR-1000X in 2016, the lineup has redefined personal audio by combining high-quality sound, intelligent noise cancelling, and ergonomic design — bringing listeners closer to the artist’s original intent wherever they go.

In addition, Sony is introducing a new Sandstone colour option for its popular WH-1000XM6 noise-cancelling headphones, expanding style choices for users who want both performance and aesthetic appeal.

1000X THE COLLEXION represents the pinnacle of Sony headphone design, combining premium materials, refined craftsmanship, and all-day comfort. Every detail has been carefully engineered to create a headphone that feels as premium as it looks.

The headband features crafted metal with a matte sandblasted texture, contrasted by polished-gloss detailing. Each unit is individually finished by skilled craftspeople, enhancing both durability and a subtle sense of luxury. Soft faux leather, developed over two years, adds a refined tactile feel, while integrated metal buttons and discreet microphone openings maintain a clean, seamless design.

Available in Platinum and Black, both finishes combine minimalism with subtle metallic accents for a modern, premium look.

Designed for long listening sessions, the headphones feature an ergonomic structure that reduces pressure and improves fit. The earcups are shaped to sit naturally around the ears, while a wider cushioned headband distributes weight evenly. Stretchable soft leather adapts to the user’s head shape, ensuring stability and comfort during extended use.

1000X THE COLLEXION delivers a spacious, wide-range sound signature designed for relaxed, immersive listening.

At its core is a custom driver unit featuring a soft edge and a high-rigidity dome made from unidirectional carbon composite material. This enhances instrument separation, vocal clarity, and high-frequency detail while creating a wider, more natural soundstage.

Sony also collaborated with GRAMMY® award-winning mastering engineers to fine-tune the acoustic profile, ensuring smooth vocals, balanced instrumentation, and emotionally accurate sound reproduction.

The model is the first headphone to feature DSEE Ultimate™, powered by Edge-AI, which upscales compressed audio in real time to restore lost detail and dynamic range.

It also expands 360 Reality Audio Upmix into three modes, allowing users to transform stereo content into immersive spatial audio experiences for music, cinema, and gaming.

The 1000X THE COLLEXION continues Sony’s legacy of industry-leading noise cancellation, using advanced multi-microphone technology and adaptive noise control.

Equipped with a Multi-Noise Sensor system and Adaptive NC Optimizer technology, the headphones intelligently adapt to their surroundings for consistently effective noise reduction.

It also retains signature 1000X features, including clear call quality, intuitive controls, seamless connectivity, and up to 24 hours of battery life.

Sony continues its commitment to sustainability and inclusive design. A portion of the materials used in the headphones is made from recycled plastics, while plastic-free packaging helps reduce environmental impact.

Accessibility-focused design elements include a magnetic carry case for easier handling, tactile buttons, clear left/right markings, and QR-based guides to improve usability for a wider range of users.

1000X THE COLLEXION in Platinum and Black is now available at an SRP of RM2,799.

The WH-1000XM6 in Sandstone will be available from early June 2026 at selected Sony Stores, including Sony Store BBCC, IOI City Mall, The Curve, Sony Store Online, and authorised channels, with an SRP of RM2,099.
