Sony Exhibits at CES 2025
January 8, 2025Sony Group Corporation will be showcasing its latest innovations at CES® 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada, from January 7 to 10, under the theme “Creative Entertainment Vision.” This theme represents Sony’s long-term vision for the next decade, focusing on advancements in creative technologies and the expansion of entertainment possibilities.
At Sony’s press conference on January 6, Hiroki Totoki, President, COO, and CFO of Sony Group Corporation, led the announcement of several initiatives designed to push the boundaries of creative freedom. The presentations included new solutions for spatial content creation, a vehicle processing system that enhances safety and creativity, and projects aimed at expanding the reach of game IP. These initiatives include the production of an anime series based on “Ghost of Tsushima: Legends,” the launch of the “Crunchyroll Manga” app, and updates on the drama series “The Last of Us” season 2.
Additionally, Roger Goodell, Commissioner of the US National Football League, joined the conference to discuss the evolution of sports entertainment. Sony Honda Mobility also unveiled its electric vehicle, “AFEELA 1,” set to begin accepting orders in 2025, showcasing Sony’s commitment to innovation in mobility.
Sony’s press conference highlighted how creators, partners, and employees are collaborating to create infinite realities that spark imagination and deliver a boundless sense of Kando (emotion and excitement). Key speakers included executives from Sony, Aniplex, Crunchyroll, PlayStation Productions, and more.
CES 2025 Booth Overview: Sony’s booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center (Booth #20800) will run from January 7 to 10, 2025, featuring a variety of exhibits based on the three phases of Sony’s “Creative Entertainment Vision”: “Creativity Unleashed,” “Boundaries Transcended,” and “Narratives Everywhere.” The booth will highlight Sony’s vision for the future of entertainment, focusing on creating content through co-creation with artists and innovators.
Key Exhibits:
- PXO AKIRA: A new vehicle processing system using Virtual Production, combining robotic camera cranes, motion platforms, LED volume technology, and digital twin tools to enhance creative possibilities in vehicle filming.
- XYN™ Integrated Solution: A software and hardware solution designed to support the creation of spatial content. Utilizing Sony’s imaging, sensing, and display technologies, XYN™ enables the creation of high-quality 3D digital environments.
- LEGO® Horizon Adventures™: A game and music collaboration featuring the Horizon franchise, with a theme song by mxmtoon. The game is made entirely from LEGO elements and will include a teaser music video released at CES.
- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Experience: A photo booth experience inspired by the popular anime series, featuring a recreation of the movie poster for “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle.”
- Immersive Location-Based Entertainment Concept: A proof-of-concept for location-based entertainment based on “The Last of Us,” incorporating video, audio, and haptics for a fully immersive experience.
