Samsung introduced its new flagship UHS-I memory card model, the ‘PRO Ultimate,’ available in microSD and full-size SD form factors. These cutting-edge memory cards are designed to empower professional photographers and content creators, enabling them to maximize productivity in their creative workflows. With capacities reaching up to 512 gigabytes (GB) and an impressive sequential read speed of up to 200 megabytes-per-second (MB/s), the PRO Ultimate lineup takes your storage game to the next level.

Hangu Sohn, Vice President of Memory Brand Product Biz Team at Samsung Electronics, highlights the importance of seamless data handling for creators. Best-in-Class Read and Write Speeds with UHS-I Interface

The PRO Ultimate memory cards from Samsung set a new industry standard with their impressive read speeds of up to 200MB/s. This speed is the maximum achievable through the UHS-I interface, making them ideal for handling heavy-duty files like 4K ultra-high definition (UHD) and Full HD (FHD) videos, with Video Speed Class 30 (V30) support. These memory cards also offer write speeds of 130MB/s, ensuring reliable high-performance read/write speeds, regardless of capacity.

The PRO Ultimate microSD card goes even further by showcasing an Application Performance Class 2 (A2), providing high performance for random read and write operations and multi-tasking capabilities.

Increased Reliability and Durability

Professional photographers and creators can count on the PRO Ultimate memory cards for their reliability, thanks to the enhanced Error Correction Code (ECC) engine and multi-proof protection features. The upgrade to ECC’s Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) code ensures enhanced durability, even with a higher volume of write-and-erase cycles.

These memory cards are built to withstand challenging environments, featuring water protection for up to 72 hours in two meters of depth, drop-proof design from heights of up to five meters, wear-out protection for up to 10,000 swipes, as well as X-ray and magnetic protection. They can operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -25°C to 85°C (-13°F to 185°F) and provide shock protection of up to 1,500g.

The PRO Ultimate microSD card is available in three storage capacities: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The PRO Ultimate SD card is offered in four storage capacities: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

The PRO Ultimate microSD card is available worldwide starting today, while the PRO Ultimate SD card will be available globally in October 2023. Additionally, a card reader-included option for all capacities in both sizes will also be available to users.
