Samsung Malaysia Electronics and Maybank have announced a strategic partnership that introduces Malaysia’s first Samsung Wallet QR Payment experience, making everyday cashless payments even more convenient for Samsung Galaxy users.

Starting 21 July 2026, eligible Samsung Galaxy smartphone users will be able to access Maybank’s MAE Scan & Pay feature directly within Samsung Wallet through the latest software update.

The collaboration combines Samsung’s mobile technology with Maybank’s digital banking services to deliver a faster, more seamless payment experience. Users can simply launch Samsung Wallet with a swipe, scan a participating QR code, and complete their payment without switching between multiple apps.

As Malaysia continues to embrace digital payments, both companies aim to make everyday transactions simpler, safer and more accessible for consumers across the country.

Charles Kim, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics, said Samsung Wallet has evolved beyond being just a digital wallet into an intelligent everyday companion that helps simplify daily life.

“Our partnership with Maybank marks an important milestone in expanding the Samsung Wallet ecosystem in Malaysia. By integrating QR payments directly into Samsung Wallet, users can enjoy an even faster and more effortless payment experience,” he said.

Kalyani Nair, Group Chief Digital Officer of Maybank, added that the partnership reflects the bank’s commitment to delivering intuitive digital banking experiences through strategic collaborations.

“Integrating MAE Scan & Pay into Samsung Wallet provides greater convenience while maintaining the security and reliability that customers expect from Maybank. Together, we are making digital banking and payments simpler, faster and more accessible,” she said.

Beyond local transactions, the integrated QR payment feature also supports participating QR payment networks in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia, allowing users to enjoy a seamless payment experience while travelling within the region.

In addition to convenience, users can also earn Samsung Rewards Points for every eligible QR payment made through Samsung Wallet. The accumulated points can be redeemed for Samsung products and selected vouchers available through the Samsung Members app.

To celebrate the launch, Samsung and Maybank are introducing a limited-time promotional campaign from 28 July to 30 October 2026, offering rewards worth a combined RM500,000.

Eligible users who successfully activate QR Payment in Samsung Wallet will receive RM5, while additional cashback and vouchers of up to RM15 are available when they make qualifying purchases during the promotional period.

The Samsung Wallet QR Payment feature will be available on eligible Samsung Galaxy smartphones via the latest Samsung Wallet and software update. Users can refer to the Samsung Wallet app for more information and activation details.
