Samsung Electronics and Google have unveiled a first look at their new intelligent eyewear at Google I/O 2026, introducing a new wearable category that combines advanced AI capabilities with premium eyewear design.

Co-created with renowned eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, the intelligent eyewear blends Samsung’s expertise in hardware engineering with Google’s AI technology, delivering a device that is designed to be both fashionable and functional. Each brand brings its own design philosophy to the collection, with Gentle Monster offering bold and contemporary aesthetics, while Warby Parker focuses on timeless and refined styles.

Designed as a companion device to a smartphone, the intelligent eyewear enables users to interact naturally with AI through voice commands while staying connected to their mobile devices. Built to understand and respond to the world around users in real time, the wearable provides hands-free assistance throughout the day without disrupting daily activities.

Powered by Gemini AI, users can access navigation assistance simply by speaking, discover nearby places such as cafés along their route, place pickup orders, receive summarized notifications, and add events to their calendars. The eyewear also supports real-time language translation with audio that matches the speaker’s voice, while text displayed on menus, signs, and other objects can be translated directly within the user’s field of view.

Working seamlessly within the Galaxy ecosystem, the device allows users to manage everyday tasks, stay informed, and even capture photos without needing to take out their smartphones.

“This intelligent eyewear marks an important step in Samsung’s vision for AI,” said Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “With this new AI form factor, we are further expanding the Galaxy device ecosystem, where each device is optimized to deliver unique AI experiences that best fit each form.”

Shahram Izadi, Vice President and General Manager of Android XR at Google, added: “Intelligent eyewear represents a powerful step forward in our shared vision with Samsung to make AI more helpful and accessible in everyday life. Combining the best of Google’s AI and the Android ecosystem together with Samsung’s leadership in mobile hardware and Gentle Monster and Warby Parker’s premium design, we are helping users stay connected and fashionable in a more natural, hands-free way.”

According to Hankook Kim, the collaboration represents a new direction for wearable technology. “Our vision was to merge fashion and technology in a way that feels bold, beautiful and human, bringing Gentle Monster’s disruptive design identity into a new era of intelligent eyewear with Samsung and Google.”

Meanwhile, Dave Gilboa emphasized the importance of comfort and everyday usability. “Eyewear is deeply personal, which is why every detail matters when integrating advanced technology into frames people wear every day. Our Intelligent Eyewear is designed to feel intuitive, combining Warby Parker’s signature design with precision optics and exceptional comfort to help people stay focused on the moments in front of them.”

The first collections of Samsung and Google’s intelligent eyewear are scheduled to launch this fall in selected markets, with additional details expected to be announced in the coming months.
