Protect Your Privacy Safeguarding Your Personal Information
May 8, 2024Our phones are almost always in our hands, but have you ever thought about how frequently they end up in others’ hands? Whether it’s showing a friend something funny, entertaining a child, or sending it in for repairs, we often share our precious devices. However, each time we do so, we risk granting too much access and compromising our privacy.

Enter Pin App and Maintenance Mode, two features that can put your mind at ease. With these, you have the power to control what others can see on your device, regardless of who’s holding it. It’s like having a personal bouncer for your phone.
Pin App ensures that when you hand over your phone, people stay within the app you’ve chosen, preventing accidental peeks into other apps and dodging potentially embarrassing moments. Additionally, it acts as a Do Not Disturb sign, blocking notifications that could reveal sensitive information.

Setting up Pin App is straightforward. Just head to your Settings, navigate to Security and Privacy, and toggle the Pin App switch. For added security, enable ‘Ask for PIN before unpinning’ to require a password to exit the pinned application.
On the other hand, Maintenance Mode comes into play when you send your phone for repairs. It’s designed to safeguard your data from unauthorized access during this period. Activating Maintenance Mode creates a separate user profile, keeping your primary account and data private. This feature can be activated through your device’s Settings or the Samsung Members app.
Lastly, Secure Folder, powered by Samsung Knox, offers an extra layer of security by encrypting your most sensitive data and apps. It’s a secure container within your phone, accessible only through authentication methods like PIN, pattern, password, or fingerprint.
In a world where privacy is paramount, these features—Pin App, Maintenance Mode, and Secure Folder—provide essential reassurance against unwanted intrusions into your digital life.
