PICO has officially unveiled its first all-in-one Mixed Reality (MR) headset, the PICO 4 Ultra, marking a major milestone in the MR technology space. This launch is set to deliver a more immersive and personalized mixed-reality experience.

High-Performance Hardware
The PICO 4 Ultra is equipped with dual 32-megapixel RGB cameras and an iToF depth-sensing camera, offering a superior stereoscopic high-definition color passthrough experience. It also introduces a panoramic workspace concept, enabling multi-window operations that enhance multitasking efficiency and comfort.

Full-Body Motion Tracking

PICO also introduced the PICO Motion Tracker, a light

tweight and comfortable accessory that users can strap to their ankles for full-body motion capture. The powerful MR capabilities of the PICO 4 Ultra are driven by seven visual sensors, including four environmental tracking cameras for SLAM spatial positioning, two color cameras, and one iToF depth-sensing camera for environmental perception. The device displays high-definition images with 8 megapixels and 20.6 PPD resolution, optimizing edge distortion and overlay issues for a low-distortion color passthrough. The iToF depth-sensing camera accurately measures distances up to 3 meters, which is crucial for precise spatial perception. Combined with PICO’s environment perception algorithm, the PICO 4 Ultra reconstructs virtual environments that closely mirror the real world, forming its powerful MR perception capability.

The PICO 4 Ultra features a high-quality dual 4K+ super-sense display with a default refresh rate of 90Hz and a rendering resolution of 1,920*1,920, approximately 62% higher than the PICO 4, providing clearer and more immersive visuals. Powered by the Snapdragon™ XR2 Gen 2 platform, supported by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, it ensures smooth MR experiences. The device continues PICO’s balanced design, with a total weight of just 580 grams for comfortable wear. PICO also introduced a new ring-less controller that is more lightweight and easier to grip while retaining the broadband linear motor for delicate haptic feedback.

Revolutionizing the PICO Video Experience with Full-Chain Spatial Video Optimization
In the digital entertainment era, spatial video is becoming a new way for users to capture their lives. The PICO 4 Ultra enhances this experience with its bionic human eye lens layout, simulating binocular vision for shooting spatial videos. It can record at a maximum resolution of 2,048*1,536 at 60 fps, delivering smoother action recordings. Future updates will include spatial audio recording for a more realistic reproduction of dynamic moments.

The PICO 4 Ultra fully supports spatial videos and photos shot by Apple devices, including the iPhone 15 Pro series and Vision Pro. Users can import this content directly into the PICO 4 Ultra photo gallery for a richer viewing experience.

Expanding the Application Ecosystem for MR Entertainment
PICO 4 Ultra offers a world-leading MR/VR application ecosystem with over 600 applications, including nearly 500 games that cover various scenarios from entertainment to productivity. This includes 48 MR games and 21 games compatible with the PICO Motion Tracker. PICO Connect has also been upgraded to reduce streaming latency by up to 30% when paired with Wi-Fi 7 routers, supporting seamless cross-screen connectivity between PCs/Macs and smartphones.

PICO Motion Tracker: Crafting a Full-Body Immersive Experience

The PICO Motion Tracker supports popular applications like VRChat and Tempo Club and unlocks a broader Steam game ecosystem via PC streaming. It is compatible with the PICO 4 Ultra, PICO 4 Pro, and PICO 4, offering a new full-body immersive MR experience for existing users.

The PICO 4 Ultra is available at an RRP of RM 2,799, and PICO Motion Tracker at RM 399, beginning 4 September 2024.
