SAIC Motor Malaysia recently supported the largest MG owners’ gathering ever held in Northern Malaysia, bringing together enthusiasts from across the region for a memorable weekend in Langkawi.

Organised by MG Alor Setar, the event welcomed 66 MG owners and around 200 participants, including family members and friends, highlighting the growing popularity of the MG brand among Malaysian motorists.

The gathering featured an impressive lineup of MG models, including the MG5, MG HS, MG4 electric hatchback, and the eye-catching MG Cyberster roadster. The event allowed owners to showcase their vehicles, share ownership experiences, and strengthen friendships within the growing MG community.

One of the highlights of the gathering was the opportunity for participants to test drive the locally assembled MGS5 EV, allowing owners to experience MG’s latest electric vehicle firsthand.

Emory Qi, Managing Director of SAIC Motor Malaysia, welcomed the continued growth of MG communities outside the Klang Valley and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting dealer-led initiatives nationwide.

“We are delighted to see the MG community continuing to grow across Malaysia, particularly in regions outside the Klang Valley. We remain committed to supporting MG owners and fostering stronger engagement within the community. Their positive ownership experiences and advocacy play an important role in strengthening the MG brand and inspiring confidence among prospective customers,” he said.

Qi also described the Langkawi gathering as an important milestone for the MG community in Malaysia.

“This is the largest MG gathering organised in the northern region to date, and it is encouraging to witness such strong camaraderie among members. We hope to see more regional gatherings in the future and look forward to welcoming MG owners from across the country to a nationwide MG convention,” he added.

The successful gathering reflects SAIC Motor Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to build a vibrant ownership community beyond vehicle sales. Through dealer-led road trips, community events and owners’ gatherings, the company continues to create opportunities for customers to connect, share experiences and celebrate their passion for the MG brand.
