Last week, Argentina witnessed a remarkable gathering of artists, podcasters, fans, and industry luminaries, all coming together for Spotify’s highly anticipated Festival EQUAL. This event served as a vibrant celebration of the creativity and talent that women bring to the forefront of the music and podcast scenes. Festival EQUAL is an extension of Spotify’s EQUAL program, a global initiative that seeks to contribute to gender equity in the music industry by amplifying and celebrating the work of women creators worldwide.

The festival kicked off with a two-day extravaganza hosted at the C Complejo Art Media venue. These days were filled with engaging panels and presentations designed specifically to empower and inspire women creators and artists, culminating in a sold-out concert that left attendees in awe.

“With the Festival EQUAL, Spotify has found an opportunity to show the country and the world what Argentine artists are generating in the industry,” noted Bel Aztiria, Global Head of EQUAL for Spotify, in anticipation of the event.

“What started as an early idea back then is today a reality. We are excited to know that Spotify is about to celebrate an unprecedented milestone in the country by bringing together more than 20,000 people in one place with a single common goal: to celebrate the talent of Argentine women,” remarked Carolina Martin, Artists & Label Partnerships, Spotify Southern Cone.

One of the festival’s highlights was a captivating panel discussion moderated by Carolina and Bel, featuring esteemed speakers such as Barbi Recanati, Silvina Moreno, Juliana Gattas, and Julieta Laso. These remarkable women shared their experiences, ideas, and unique perspectives on the journey of women in the local music industry.

In recognition of the rising influence of podcasting, Spotify also organized an EQUAL Podcast Festival as part of the event. This segment allowed women podcast creators to come together and share their wisdom on building successful podcasting careers while highlighting the advancements they’ve made in the industry. Onstage, the creators of ConchaPodcast had the pleasure of hosting Moria Casán, a prominent figure in the entertainment world, for a discussion about the launch of her Spotify Original podcast, La One.

Another intriguing session featured Momi Giardina, Mica Vazquez, Marti Benza, and Martu Ortiz, creators from the highly popular Argentinian channel LUZU TV. They engaged in a conversation about celebrating women empowerment and the numerous opportunities available to keep women visible and influential in their industry.

To conclude this enriching day of insights and inspiration, Jacinta de Oromí, creator of the podcast TIPO; Marian Soler, creator of the podcast Cebando Flores; and Buera, creator of the podcast ¿estás?; took the stage to share their invaluable tips and recommendations for creating compelling and impactful content.
