Honda Malaysia Celebrates Remarkable Sales Achievement in 2023

Honda Malaysia proudly announced surpassing its annual sales target for 2023, with over 80,000 units sold. This significant milestone has secured the company’s leading position as the No.1 brand in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment for the tenth year since 2014.

The year 2023 marked a period of gradual recovery and optimism, during which Honda Malaysia launched four new models in the latter half of the year – WR-V, City, Civic Type R, and the All-New CR-V.

The City, HR-V, and City Hatchback were the top three sellers, contributing 30%, 25%, and 13% respectively to total sales. Additionally, the WR-V, HR-V, CR-V, and Civic all led in their respective segments.

Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia, stated, “2023 was a challenging year, marked by intense market competition. Nevertheless, we achieved our sales target, thanks to the robust support from our dealers, the Malaysian Government, and most importantly, our loyal customers.”

A key factor in this year’s success was the launch of the WR-V in July. This small SUV, particularly its RS variant, garnered an extraordinary response, accounting for 60% of its total sales and selling over 7,800 units within the first six months.

In addition, Honda Malaysia saw its e:HEV hybrid models soar in popularity, with sales increasing from 4,100 units in 2022 to over 7,700 units in 2023. This 87% growth significantly contributed to the overall hybrid sales in Malaysia, showcasing the increasing acceptance and demand for xEVs in the country.
