Samsung Electronics has announced that the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) feature is now available in Malaysia through the Samsung Health Monitor app. This feature, combined with the app’s Blood Pressure and Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring, helps Galaxy Watch users better understand their heart health by detecting heart rhythms that may indicate atrial fibrillation (AFib).

In addition to the on-demand ECG tracking, the IHRN feature continuously checks for irregular heart rhythms in the background, alerting users to potential AFib activity. Including Blood Pressure and Heart Rate monitoring, users can gain more comprehensive insights into their cardiovascular health.

Since its launch in 2020, the Samsung Health Monitor app has expanded to 74 markets worldwide, with over 15 million Galaxy Watch users tracking their blood pressure and ECG right from their wrist, allowing for continuous heart health monitoring.

“Cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of death globally, and we’re committed to empowering users to monitor their heart health with tools like blood pressure measurement and irregular heart rhythm notifications,” said Hon Pak, Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team, MX Business at Samsung Electronics. “We continue to explore ways to help Galaxy Watch users gain deeper insights into their health, effortlessly, day and night.”
