Emirates Sets a New Standard With Free Starlink Wi-Fi
November 20, 2025Emirates is redefining in-flight connectivity by becoming the first airline to roll out free, ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire in-service fleet. Beginning with its Boeing 777 aircraft in November 2025, and with full installation expected by mid-2027, passengers can look forward to a travel experience where staying connected feels just as effortless as it does on the ground.

The first Starlink-equipped aircraft, A6-EPF, is already complete and showcased at the Dubai Airshow, giving visitors a firsthand look at just how powerful the new system is. Once it re-enters service, it will mark the official start of an ambitious fleet-wide rollout that will gradually bring Starlink to every Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 in the Emirates lineup.
Starlink’s high-speed connectivity will transform the way passengers fly. You’ll be able to stream your favourite shows, make uninterrupted video calls, browse social media, play online games, catch up on work, and stay connected to your digital life throughout the entire journey. The technology supports both seatback screens and personal devices simultaneously, blending seamlessly into the Emirates experience without requiring payment or membership. Access is simple, instant, and completely free for all customers.
To ensure the best coverage and performance, Emirates is installing two antennae on each Boeing 777 and an industry-first three antennae on each Airbus A380. Live TV over Starlink will also be introduced, initially through personal devices before making its way to seatback screens from late December 2025.
Emirates Airline President Sir Tim Clark described this partnership as a defining milestone for the company’s vision of helping passengers “fly better.” He emphasized that Starlink is only one part of a broader transformation taking place across the fleet, which includes new Premium Economy cabins, refreshed First and Business Class interiors, upgraded entertainment systems, and enhanced finishes throughout. Emirates’ goal, he explains, is unwavering consistency — ensuring every customer can enjoy the best of Emirates, regardless of which aircraft or route they are on.
SpaceX’s Chad Gibbs echoed the excitement, highlighting that passengers will now enjoy the freedom to stream, game, and hold video calls just as they would on the ground.
This upgrade comes alongside Emirates’ significant retrofit programme, which has already seen 76 fully refurbished aircraft return to service featuring the airline’s newest cabins and designs. Combined with signature experiences like the A380 Onboard Lounge, First Class Shower Spa, and over 6,500 entertainment channels, Starlink Wi-Fi adds yet another layer to Emirates’ leadership in in-flight comfort and innovation.
