Emirates Brings Mid-Autumn Festival Spirit Onboard with Complimentary Mooncakes
September 23, 2026For many families across Malaysia and Asia, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for reunion, traditions, and, of course, mooncakes shared under the full moon.
For travellers making their way home or flying between Malaysia and Dubai during the festive season, Emirates is bringing a little taste of that tradition onboard.
On 25 and 26 September 2026, customers travelling on selected Emirates flights will receive a complimentary mooncake as part of their meal service, with the festive offering available across all cabin classes.
The seasonal mooncake features a traditional red bean paste filling and will be served alongside lunch or dinner.
A Mooncake for Every Cabin
Emirates is giving its festive treat a slightly different presentation depending on the cabin.
Passengers travelling in First Class and Business Class will receive a specially packaged mooncake gift box following the first meal service.
Meanwhile, customers in Premium Economy and Economy Class will receive their mooncake as part of the meal tray service.
It is a small addition to the journey, but for passengers travelling during the Mid-Autumn period, the familiar taste of a traditional mooncake can bring a little reminder of home while thousands of feet in the air.
More Chinese Entertainment to Enjoy
The Mid-Autumn experience doesn’t stop at the meal.
Passengers can also explore Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system, which features more than 40 Cantonese and Mandarin films.
The selection includes recent titles such as I Am What I Am 2, Invincible Swordsman, The Way We Talk and I Want to Be Rich.
For those looking for Hollywood entertainment, Emirates also offers more than 300 Hollywood releases with Chinese subtitles, including How to Train Your Dragon, Elio, Materialists and Audrey’s Children.
That gives travellers plenty to watch after their festive meal, whether they are catching up on a new release or simply looking for something familiar during the flight.
Celebrating Mid-Autumn Across the Region
Emirates’ Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations are not limited to Malaysia.
The festive experience will also be available on selected flights between Dubai and China, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan and Singapore, extending the celebration to travellers across the region.
For Malaysian travellers, Emirates currently operates three daily flights between Malaysia and Dubai, using a combination of Airbus A350, Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft.
With families travelling home and others heading abroad during the festive period, Emirates’ Mid-Autumn offering adds a familiar local touch to the journey — proving that sometimes, even a small mooncake can make a long flight feel a little more like home.
