AllStar Legends Brings Premier League and World Football Icons to MITEC Kuala Lumpur
October 2, 2026Football fans in Kuala Lumpur are getting ready for a star-studded night as AllStar Sports Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with World Football Legends (WFL), officially unveils the full player line-up and match trophy for AllStar Legends, happening on 3 October 2026.
With the event now nearing a sell-out, fans will get the chance to see a collection of former Premier League and international football stars come together on the same pitch.
But there is also a major change to the match-day experience.
AllStar Legends Moves Indoors to MITEC
The highly anticipated match has been relocated to the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur, following consideration of the worsening haze situation and unpredictable weather conditions.
Instead of a traditional outdoor stadium setting, fans will now experience AllStar Legends in an indoor football venue.
The change is expected to create a faster-paced style of play while also bringing spectators closer to the action and the football legends themselves.
With the indoor setting, fans can expect a more intimate atmosphere where the players are much closer, allowing supporters to see some of the biggest names in football history up close.
Premier League Legends Take the Pitch
The AllStar Premier Legends team brings together several familiar names from the English Premier League.
The confirmed line-up includes:
- John Arne Riise
- Eidur Gudjohnsen
- Danny Simpson
- Ryan Giggs
- Steven Gerrard
- David Bentley
- Michael Owen
For Premier League fans, the line-up brings together players from different generations whose careers have featured some memorable moments in English football.
World Football Icons Join the Clash
They will be joined by the AllStar World Legends, featuring internationally recognised football names:
- Javier Saviola
- Jaap Stam
- Fernando Morientes
- Diego Capel
- Dida
- Alessandro Del Piero
- Gregory Van Der Wiel
The combination of Premier League and international legends sets up a match that brings together different eras and football backgrounds in one showcase.
The AllStar Legends Trophy Has Also Been Revealed
Adding to the excitement ahead of match day, organisers have also unveiled the official AllStar Legends match trophy.
Beyond being presented as the prize for the match, the trophy is intended to represent the occasion itself — celebrating the players, the memories they have created throughout their careers and their continued connection with football fans.
A Different Kind of Football Experience
With the match moving indoors, AllStar Sports says the MITEC venue will offer more than simply a change of location.
The controlled indoor environment removes some of the uncertainty associated with outdoor weather, while the venue layout allows supporters to experience the action from a closer perspective.
For fans, this means the focus will be firmly on the legends and the match itself, creating a more intimate football experience compared with a conventional stadium event.
Supported by Major Partners
AllStar Legends is supported by a line-up of partners including:
BYD Sime Motors as Official Automotive Partner, Gambit Group as Joint Presenter, NIVEA MEN and Spritzer Berhad as Gold Sponsors, Astro as Official Media Partner, Seni Jaya Corporation Berhad as Official Outdoor Media and PARKROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur as Official Hotel.
The event is also supported by the Football Association Malaysia.
Bringing Football Fans Together
Steven Windsor, Project Director of AllStar Sports, said the response to AllStar Legends reflects the continued connection fans have with football legends and the memories they created throughout their careers.
Under the theme “Rise Above All,” AllStar Legends aims to bring different generations of football fans together through a shared passion for the sport.
AllStar Sports also positions the event as part of its wider effort to create sports entertainment experiences for fans while showcasing Malaysia to visiting athletes through its culture, food and modern city environment.
Meanwhile, WFL connects football icons with fans through sporting events and regional experiences, supporting the delivery of AllStar Legends alongside AllStar Sports.
