Emirates Brings New A350 to Kuala Lumpur, Expanding Premium Economy Experience

Travellers flying between Kuala Lumpur and Dubai will soon have another Emirates aircraft option to look forward to, as Emirates will introduce its new Airbus A350 on the Kuala Lumpur–Dubai route from 1 September 2026.

The new aircraft will operate EK344 and EK345, adding the latest-generation Emirates A350 alongside the airline’s retrofitted Boeing 777 currently operating on EK346 and EK347.

The move will also increase Emirates’ Premium Economy offering in Kuala Lumpur to 52 seats daily, allowing more Malaysian travellers to experience the airline’s upgraded premium cabin.

Three Emirates Flagship Aircraft From Malaysia

The arrival of the A350 is particularly significant as Emirates celebrates 30 years of flying to Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysian travellers will now have access to all three of Emirates’ flagship aircraft types — the Airbus A350, Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 — depending on their selected flight.

Saeed Mubarak, Emirates Country Manager in Malaysia, said the airline has continued to invest in its products and services over the past three decades to improve the travel experience for Malaysian customers.

With the A350 joining the Boeing 777 and A380, travellers departing from Malaysia will have more opportunities to experience different generations of Emirates aircraft.

Inside Emirates’ New A350

The Emirates A350 features a modern cabin designed around comfort, technology and connectivity.

The aircraft is configured with 32 Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, 28 Premium Economy seats and 238 Economy Class seats.

Business Class passengers will have access to lie-flat seats arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, with wireless charging also available.

Across the premium cabins, Emirates has added electronic window blinds featuring the airline’s Ghaf tree motif when closed, while passengers can access digital inflight menus through the aircraft’s entertainment screens.

4K Entertainment at 30,000 Feet

For passengers who like to stay entertained during a long-haul flight, the A350 comes equipped with the latest generation of Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system.

The system features 4K and 4K HDR displays with responsive touchscreens, giving passengers a more immersive viewing experience while travelling.

The aircraft also offers high-performance Wi-Fi powered by ViaSat’s Global Xpress satellite network, with upgraded wireless access points designed to improve connectivity throughout the aircraft.

That means passengers can potentially stay connected, browse the internet or get some work done while flying between Kuala Lumpur and Dubai.

Connecting Kuala Lumpur to More Destinations

Beyond the Dubai route itself, the introduction of the A350 also gives Malaysian travellers access to a consistent Emirates experience when connecting through Dubai to destinations served by the A350.

Passengers travelling from Kuala Lumpur on EK345, or arriving in Kuala Lumpur on EK344, can connect through Dubai to more than 20 destinations across Emirates’ global network.

These include cities such as Istanbul, Lyon and Frankfurt, alongside destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the Americas.

For frequent travellers, the expanded A350 operation means Kuala Lumpur becomes another gateway to Emirates’ growing network of newer aircraft and updated cabin products.

A New Chapter After 30 Years

After three decades of connecting Malaysia with the world, Emirates’ introduction of the A350 adds another chapter to its Kuala Lumpur operation.

With Premium Economy now available through both the A350 and retrofitted Boeing 777, travellers have more opportunities to experience Emirates’ upgraded cabin products when planning their next trip.

The Emirates A350 will begin operating between Kuala Lumpur and Dubai from 1 September 2026, although aircraft configurations may change depending on operational requirements.

Travellers can make bookings through the Emirates website, Emirates App, Emirates retail stores, contact centre or authorised travel agents.
