‘SHARP Travel with Parents’ Series in Collaboration with Astro

Sharp Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (SHARP), known for its pioneering technological solutions, is excited to announce the launch of the ‘SHARP Travel with Parents’ series in collaboration with Astro, just in time for Mother’s and Father’s Day. This series aims to celebrate the special bond between parents and children through travel, highlighting the significance of family warmth and creating lasting memories.

The inaugural season, ‘SHARP Travel with Mommy,’ premiered in 2023 and received widespread acclaim, earning the title of ‘Best Lifestyle Programme’ for Malaysia at the Asian Academy Creatives Awards due to its high viewership. The upcoming season, debuting on May 12, 2024, at 9:30 pm on Astro AEC, Astro GO, On Demand, and sooka, expands its focus to include the entire family, fostering beautiful moments together. Viewers will be introduced to international destinations like Australia, Macau, Taiwan, as well as local Malaysian gems such as Sitiawan and Pangkor Island, offering ideal options for family vacations.

At the launch event, local TV personality and SHARP’s Parents’ Day campaign ambassador, Jason Yeoh, joined by his mother, Madam Lim Poh Choo, shared touching anecdotes of their travels enhanced by SHARP’s innovative products, underscoring the profound impact of these journeys on family life.

Mr. Ting Yang Chung, Managing Director of SHARP Malaysia, expressed his excitement about the collaboration: “The theme of traveling with parents has deeply resonated with our audience, and following the positive feedback from our first season with Astro, we were eager to launch the second season. This new season celebrates all parents by extending the program to include the entire family. Our goal with the ‘Travel with Parents’ series is to create unforgettable moments cherished by every family member.”

This year’s ‘SHARP Travels with Parents’ delves into the essence of family travel, guiding viewers through scenic destinations suitable for elderly parents while also inspiring audiences to fulfill their parents’ travel dreams.

In honor of Parents’ Day, SHARP conducted a street interview with 50 Malaysian participants to understand their desires for family travel. Many expressed the wish to travel with their parents but found trip planning challenging due to limited information. Furthermore, over 80% of respondents planned to purchase home appliances as gifts during Parents’ Day, with TVs and refrigerators being top choices.

To meet this demand, SHARP launched a special Parents’ Day promotion offering discounts of up to 40% and gifts with purchase on over 70 products like televisions, washing machines, and air conditioners. Additionally, SHARP is set to launch a travel content series on Facebook and Xiao Hong Shu, providing valuable information and travel tips for upcoming family trips.
