Galaxy SmartTag2: Elevating Tracking and Convenience

With an enhanced finding experience and a longer battery life, Galaxy SmartTag2 will provide users with greater peace of mind for longer and in more situations.”
Intuitive Features for Easier Item Retrieval
Galaxy SmartTag2 introduces the brand-new Lost Mode, which allows users to input their contact information via a message. Anyone who discovers an item with a Galaxy SmartTag2 attached can use their smartphone to scan the tag and view the owner’s message and contact details. This feature transforms a Galaxy SmartTag2 attached to a pet’s collar into a convenient way to ensure the pet owner’s phone number is readily available. Lost Mode is compatible with any mobile device with NFC reader and web browser capabilities.
The device also features an improved Compass View, providing arrows to indicate the direction and distance of the Galaxy SmartTag2 in relation to the user. This feature is available on UWB-supported Galaxy smartphones like the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Enhanced SmartThings Find App
The SmartThings Find app has received upgrades as well. Newly registered Galaxy SmartTags now install a shortcut to the app on the user’s smartphone, enabling quicker access to SmartThings Find. The app now offers a full-screen map view and a user-friendly interface, enhancing the overall user experience. Additionally, when switching between Galaxy smartphones, SmartTag2 automatically re-syncs with your device through your Samsung account.
New Modes for Extended Battery Life
Galaxy SmartTag2 offers a Power Saving Mode in addition to the improved Normal mode. Power Saving Mode allows users to extend the device’s battery life while maintaining continuous tracking capability. With Power Saving Mode, Galaxy SmartTag2’s battery lasts up to an impressive 700 days, more than twice as long as previous models. Even in Normal Mode, the battery life is extended to 500 days, a 50% increase from previous models. Users can now track their valuables, such as car keys or bikes, for extended periods with the flexibility to switch between these two modes.
Sleek and Versatile Design
Galaxy SmartTag2’s compact size and ring-shaped design prioritize ease of use. The large metal loop enhances product durability and can support accessories like clips and keyrings, allowing easy attachment to bags and luggage. Additionally, the device supports a new pet walking mode, enabling users to log walks with their pets effortlessly.
Privacy and Security
Galaxy SmartTag2 leverages both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and UWB capabilities, utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) Find technology to guide users visually to their items using their Samsung Galaxy smartphone camera. Location information is only shared with the user’s permission, and SmartThings Find encrypts user data and is backed by Samsung Knox for added security.
To protect users, the “Unknown tag alerts” feature notifies users of any unauthorized tracking, ensuring privacy and preventing the misuse of location tracking services.
Seamless Integration with SmartThings Station
Galaxy SmartTag2 seamlessly integrates with SmartThings Station, providing an always-at-home device scanner. This feature helps users keep track of tagged items, including personal belongings like TV remotes, wallets, keys, and registered devices like smartphones, tablets, watches, and earbuds. Pet owners will also receive alerts if a tagged collar moves too far from the SmartThings Station, ensuring their furry friends stay close to home.
