MG ZS Malaysia: Estimated pricing and early-bird offers

The all-new MG ZS will be offered in two variants, giving buyers the choice between a conventional turbocharged petrol engine and a hybrid powertrain.

VariantEstimated price
MG ZS 1.5 TurboRM105,000
MG ZS Hybrid+RM115,000

Prices are estimated for Peninsular Malaysia and exclude insurance.

The early-bird promotion is available to the first 1,000 customers who book before 30 October 2026. Eligible customers can enjoy benefits worth RM3,000 and five years of complimentary maintenance, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

For those who prefer to see the SUV in person before making a decision, the MG ZS Hybrid+ will be displayed at Nexus Bangsar South from 19 to 23 October 2026, between 10am and 10pm.

A modern SUV designed for city living

The MG ZS combines sporty styling with a cabin designed around everyday comfort and practicality.

Its exterior features a bold front fascia, Connected Hunter Eyes headlights, black grille accents, sculpted bodywork, rear LED taillights and a smooth rear spoiler. Contemporary alloy wheels complete its urban SUV appearance.

Measuring 4,430mm long and 1,818mm wide, the MG ZS is positioned as a spacious offering in the B-segment SUV category.

Inside, the cabin features an ergonomic layout, premium materials and storage solutions intended to make daily journeys more convenient. The additional interior space is designed to provide improved headroom and legroom for occupants.

Boot capacity stands at 443 litres, expanding to 1,457 litres when the rear seats are folded down. This gives owners flexibility when carrying groceries, luggage or larger items for weekend trips.

The cockpit also comes with several modern touches, including:

  • 12.3-inch floating infotainment display
  • 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Perforated leatherette seats
  • All-black interior finish

The combination of digital displays and a panoramic sunroof gives the cabin a more contemporary feel, while the practical boot capacity makes it suitable for everyday family use.

MG ZS 1.5 Turbo: Conventional petrol power

For buyers who prefer a traditional petrol-powered SUV, the MG ZS 1.5 Turbo uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

The powertrain delivers 170PS (125kW) and 275Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive.

Its key specifications include:

  • 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine
  • Maximum output of 170PS
  • Maximum torque of 275Nm
  • CVT transmission
  • 55-litre fuel tank
  • Claimed combined fuel consumption of 6.9L/100km

This variant offers a straightforward petrol-powered option for drivers who want turbocharged performance without moving to a hybrid system.

MG ZS Hybrid+: More power with lower claimed fuel consumption

The MG ZS Hybrid+ takes a different approach by combining a petrol engine with an electric motor and battery system.

It uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 100kW electric motor and a 1.83kWh high-capacity nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) battery.

Together, the system produces a combined maximum output of 215PS (158kW) and 465Nm of torque, paired with a three-speed Hybrid Transmission.

According to SAIC Motor Malaysia, the system is designed to balance performance and efficiency by keeping the powertrain operating within its efficient range.

Unlike a plug-in hybrid, the MG ZS Hybrid+ does not require an external charging connection. Its hybrid system manages the interaction between the petrol engine, electric motor and battery during driving.

Under suitable driving conditions, the SUV can also operate in EV mode at speeds of up to 80km/h, offering quieter and smoother driving when the system allows.

Its claimed performance and efficiency figures include:

  • Combined maximum output of 215PS
  • Maximum combined torque of 465Nm
  • 0–100km/h acceleration in 8.7 seconds
  • Claimed fuel consumption of 4.7L/100km
  • Up to 870km of driving range
  • 41-litre fuel tank

For buyers who spend considerable time commuting or driving around town, the Hybrid+ could be worth considering for its higher combined output and lower claimed fuel consumption compared with the petrol turbo variant.

Actual fuel consumption and driving range will depend on driving style, traffic conditions, road conditions and other factors.

MG PILOT safety technology and smartphone connectivity

Beyond its powertrain options, the MG ZS comes equipped with MG PILOT Driver Safety Technology, which includes a range of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) 2.5 features designed to support driving confidence and convenience.

Among the highlighted features are Intelligent Cruise Assist (ICA) and a Driver Fatigue Monitoring System (DFMS).

The SUV also supports MG iSMART, allowing owners to access and control selected vehicle functions remotely through their smartphones, including keyless entry functionality.

These features add another layer of convenience for drivers who want connected-car functions alongside their daily driving needs. As with other driver-assistance systems, drivers must remain attentive and follow road conditions at all times.

Four exterior colours to choose from

The all-new MG ZS will be available in four exterior colours:

  • Flare Red
  • Silver
  • Andes Grey
  • York White

All four colours are paired with a premium all-black interior featuring perforated leatherette seats.

Where to book the all-new MG ZS in Malaysia

Early bookings for the MG ZS 1.5 Turbo and MG ZS Hybrid+ can be made through the official MG Malaysia website.

Interested buyers can also visit Nexus Bangsar South between 19 and 23 October 2026, from 10am to 10pm, to view the MG ZS Hybrid+ in person.

With estimated prices of RM105,000 for the Turbo and RM115,000 for the Hybrid+, the all-new MG ZS gives Malaysian buyers two different approaches to SUV ownership: conventional turbocharged petrol power or a hybrid system that prioritises a balance of performance and fuel efficiency.

The final decision will come down to individual driving habits, fuel economy priorities and preferred powertrain. For those considering the Hybrid+, its claimed 4.7L/100km fuel consumption and 215PS combined output will be among the key figures to examine when the SUV officially launches in Malaysia.
