Hyundai Launches IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N in Malaysia at KLIMS 2026
June 12, 2026Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has officially launched the highly anticipated Hyundai IONIQ 5 N and Hyundai IONIQ 6 N at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, marking the arrival of Hyundai’s high-performance electric vehicle lineup in Malaysia.
The launch introduces a new era of performance EVs for Malaysian enthusiasts, combining exhilarating driving dynamics with the practicality and efficiency of electric mobility.
Speaking at the launch, Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Malaysia, said Malaysians have always had a strong passion for driving, and the arrival of Hyundai N models offers a new level of excitement for enthusiasts.
“The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N prove that electric vehicles can deliver an equally thrilling and emotional driving experience. Once customers get behind the wheel, they will understand what ‘Never Just Drive’ truly means,” she said.
Hyundai N: Born on the Track
Hyundai N is Hyundai Motor Company’s high-performance division, built around three core principles:
- Corner Rascal – agile handling and driver-focused dynamics.
- Everyday Sports Car – performance that remains practical for daily use.
- Race Track Capability – engineered to perform on track without additional modifications.
Every Hyundai N model is developed at Hyundai’s Namyang R&D Centre in South Korea before undergoing extensive testing at Germany’s legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, widely regarded as one of the world’s most demanding race tracks.
Drawing inspiration from Hyundai’s successful World Rally Championship (WRC) programme, Hyundai N vehicles are designed to deliver genuine performance while remaining suitable for everyday driving.
Hyundai IONIQ 5 N: Performance Meets Practicality
Named the 2024 World Performance Car, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N brings a unique blend of SUV practicality and track-focused performance.
Powered by dual electric motors producing up to 650PS with N Grin Boost activated, the IONIQ 5 N accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260km/h.
Despite its performance credentials, the vehicle still delivers a WLTP driving range of up to 448km and offers a spacious interior thanks to its 3,000mm wheelbase.
The IONIQ 5 N also introduces several innovative N-exclusive technologies, including:

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N is officially priced at RM443,888 and is available in Malaysia on a built-to-order basis.
Hyundai IONIQ 6 N: The High-Performance Electric Streamliner
Joining the IONIQ 5 N is the newly launched Hyundai IONIQ 6 N, built on Hyundai’s aerodynamic IONIQ 6 platform and crowned the 2026 World Performance Car.
Featuring a sleek body with a drag coefficient of just 0.27 Cd, the IONIQ 6 N combines aerodynamic efficiency with high-performance capability.
Like its crossover sibling, the sedan produces up to 650PS with N Grin Boost. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in only 3.2 seconds while achieving a top speed of 257km/h.
The IONIQ 6 N offers an extended WLTP driving range of up to 487km and features a sophisticated stroke-sensing Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS) system for enhanced handling and ride comfort.
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 N is priced at RM449,888 and is also available exclusively through Hyundai’s built-to-order programme.
