Sony Free IR Cut Filter Upgrade for BURANO Cinema Camera

Starting today, Sony is offering a newly developed Infrared (IR) Cut Filter designed to significantly improve color reproduction when filming under intense lighting conditions, including direct sunlight.
This enhancement ensures BURANO continues delivering cinematic excellence in every frame—even in challenging environments.
Free Filter Upgrade – Available Until June 30, 2026
To support creators, Sony is providing this IR Cut Filter replacement completely free of charge, covering both parts and labor. The upgrade program is available on a first-come, first-served basis and will run through June 30, 2026. BURANO owners are encouraged to schedule their replacement by contacting their local Sony service center.
Who’s Eligible?
Any BURANO owner experiencing reduced color accuracy under strong lighting is eligible for the filter replacement. This upgrade is specifically developed to address infrared-related color shifts that can occur in high-light situations.
Already Have the New Filter?
If your BURANO unit has a protrusion on the upper part of the front optical filter, you already have the latest IR Cut Filter installed—no action needed.
