Samsung Connects Athletes and Fans toMilano Cortina 2026 Moments
February 10, 2026Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, today outlined how it will help make the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 more connected by integrating mobile innovation and Galaxy AI across the Games-time experience.
As the way people experience the Olympic and Paralympic Games continues to evolve beyond a single venue or broadcast moment, this shift is especially pronounced at Milano Cortina 2026. With multiple host locations spread across a vast geographical landscape, Samsung’s role is to bridge distance—using technology to bring athletes, fans and the wider Olympic community closer together through connected, human-centred innovation.
At the XXV Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, Samsung will support Games-time operations through a range of integrated technologies, including:
- Delivering dynamic perspectives during the Opening Ceremony
In collaboration with Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), Galaxy S25 Ultra devices will be embedded within the Opening Ceremony broadcast to capture immersive, dynamic angles alongside traditional broadcast cameras—enhancing coverage while fully complementing existing production workflows. - Enabling seamless on-site communication for volunteers
Selected volunteers will be equipped with Galaxy devices featuring Interpreter, powered by Galaxy AI, to enable smooth communication with athletes, officials, and visitors across languages. With translations processed directly on the device, the experience remains fast and reliable across Milano Cortina 2026’s diverse venues. - Supporting officiating and competition monitoring
Samsung monitors will be deployed across Short-Track Speed Skating disciplines, providing high-quality displays to support fair play and operational needs. - Keeping fans connected with Galaxy Charging Stations
Galaxy Charging Stations will be available across venues, helping spectators stay powered and connected throughout long competition days. - Connecting athletes, media and partners at Samsung House
Samsung will host a dedicated hub where guests can experience Samsung’s Olympic technology story and come together to share moments, perspectives and conversations as part of the rhythm of the Games.
“At the heart of Samsung’s role at Milano Cortina 2026 is a clear ambition: to connect athletes and fans in every moment, and to remind everyone that the Olympic Games are, above all, about people,” said Stephanie Choi, EVP and Head of Mobile Marketing Center, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “As the way audiences watch, share and experience the Games continues to change, mobile technology plays an increasingly important role in helping people get closer—to the action, the emotion and to each other.”
Opening Ceremony integration delivers new perspectives
To support the Opening Ceremony broadcast, Galaxy devices will be integrated throughout the live production environment, enabled by the portability, advanced camera capabilities and 5G connectivity of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Installed alongside established broadcast cameras—including jibs above the field, stadium stands and athlete entrance tunnels—the devices will capture immersive, real-time perspectives wirelessly without disrupting production workflows.
Samsung is working closely with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) to ensure Galaxy-based capture integrates seamlessly into the overall broadcast environment.
Held at San Siro Stadium, the Opening Ceremony on Feb. 6 will welcome more than 75,000 spectators, as over 3,500 athletes from more than 90 countries enter the stadium to mark the official opening of the Olympic Winter Games. By enhancing coverage with Galaxy devices, Samsung will help connect those in attendance with millions more watching around the world.
“The Olympic Games are a celebration of human excellence and unity,” said Yiannis Exarchos, CEO of OBS. “Through our partnership with Samsung, we can capture dynamic perspectives that complement our core broadcast coverage—embracing mobile storytelling and helping fans feel closer to the energy and emotion of this historic moment.”
Supporting volunteers and Games-time operations
Beyond the Opening Ceremony, Galaxy innovation will support the everyday operations that keep Milano Cortina 2026 running smoothly.
A select group of volunteers will use Galaxy devices with an on-device AI-powered Interpreter, enabling natural, intuitive communication across languages. This allows volunteers to focus on what matters most—delivering a welcoming, human-centred Games experience.
“As we prepare for the most geographically widespread Winter Olympics in history, technology becomes the fabric that holds our vision together,” said Andrea Varnier, CEO of Milano Cortina 2026. “Samsung’s innovation is fundamental in transforming a vast territory into a single, unified arena—ensuring that human connection remains at the heart of this digital evolution.”
Galaxy Charging Stations across host cities will help spectators stay engaged during long competition days, while Samsung monitors inside venues will support officiating and operational excellence—ensuring the Games unfold smoothly on and off the ice.
Samsung House: a hub for storytelling and shared experiences
Located in Palazzo Serbelloni in the heart of Milan, Samsung House will serve as a central hub where guests can experience Samsung’s Olympic technology legacy as it comes to life during the Games.
Throughout Milano Cortina 2026, Samsung House will host curated programming including National Olympic Committee nights, live competition viewings and displays of the Victory Profile portrait series. These moments bring athletes, partners and media together to share perspectives and celebrate the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Hospitality experiences curated by Michelin-starred Italian chef Enrico Bartolini will further reflect local culture and warmth.
Samsung House will open on Feb. 4 and operate throughout the Olympic Winter Games until Feb. 22, before reopening during the Paralympic Winter Games from March 6–15. The venue will operate as an invitation-only space, designed to foster meaningful connections throughout the Games.
