Qualcomm Introduces Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has unveiled its most advanced Snapdragon mobile platform to date, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. The new chipset will power the Galaxy S26 Ultra globally, and the Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 in select regions.

Designed specifically for Samsung’s latest flagship devices, the platform features the custom-built 3rd Gen Qualcomm Oryon CPU, the next-generation Qualcomm Adreno GPU and the advanced Qualcomm Hexagon NPU. Together, these components unlock faster workflows, enhanced camera capabilities including Advanced Professional Video capture, and more personalized on-device AI experiences such as Now Nudge.

Optimized for Galaxy AI and Seamless Performance

Qualcomm Technologies and Samsung Electronics worked closely to optimize Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, ensuring it fully supports the latest Galaxy AI features. From delivering timely, context-aware suggestions to handling complex tasks quietly in the background, the platform is engineered to run AI experiences smoothly and efficiently.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy also integrates Qualcomm Smart Transmit technology, which optimizes uplink power across 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and satellite connections. This enables faster uploads, improved coverage and reliable connectivity without compromising efficiency or safety.

Powered by the Qualcomm FastConnect 7900 Mobile Connectivity System, the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Galaxy S26+ further enhance connectivity with integrated Ultra Wideband support. This allows for more responsive device interactions and improved everyday connectivity experiences.
